Ahh, so you want to do Tarot? Haven't an idea what Tarot is? Well, here are some of the basics....

Tarot (tare-oh!)is actually two decks in one- the Major Arcana (the Fool, Magician, Priestess, Sun, Moon, etc.) and The Minor Arcana (The Suits - Swords=Spades, Disks=Diamonds, Rods/Wands=Clubs and Cups=Hearts)The suits are what your modern-day Poker cards evolved from. So, with that knowledge, Tarot is NOT Satanic. Three cheers for Gypsies!

If the card you are looking for is in the suit:

Spades, use SS
Diamonds, use DD
Clubs, use CB
Hearts, use HT

So, if you are looking for the "Knave" of hearts, it would be HT-knave.

Here are the meanings for the Minor Arcana:

Wands

CB-KING: dark haired man, married, having family; a friend
CB-QUEEN: dark lady, serious, good counsellor, mother
CB-KNIGHT: dark haired young man or child. Friendly, sent by near relations.
CB-ACE: beginning of an enterprise.
CB-TWO: difficulty, obssticle to the enterprise, unforseen.
CB-THREE: initial success, the base is laid out, encouragement.
CB-FOUR: renewed difficulty.
CB-FIVE: obsticle overcome by assiduity, victory.
CB-SIX: failure, the obsticles overcome the enterprise.
CB-SEVEN: success, one part of the enterprise achieved.
CB-EIGHT: opposition to final achievement.
CB-NINE: final success, the task is performed.
CB-TEN: uncertainty in the conduct of the enterprise.

Cups

HT-KING: blond man, friend, judge, clergyman, bachelor
HT-QUEEN: blond woman, friend, mistress, sweetheart, fiancee.
HT-KNIGHT: the beginning of a new relationship, a new love, an arrival, birth.
HT-ACE: begining of love
HT-TWO: obsticles deriving from one of the couple.
HT-THREE: both have fallen in love.
HT-FOUR: a third person provokes opposition.
HT-FIVE: the obstacle is ovecome.
HT-SIX: destroyed love, widowhood.
HT-SEVEN: triumph of love.
HT-EIGHT: deception.
HT-NINE: pregnancy.
HT-TEN: uncertainly.

Swords

SS-KING: dark haired evil man.
SS-QUEEN: calumnious, dark haired woman, evil action.
SS-KNIGHT: spy, bad news, a young enemy.
SS-ACE: beginning of tense relation
SS-TWO: opposition which will not last.
SS-THREE: hatred.
SS-FOUR: success against the enemy.
SS-FIVE: haveing been overcome, the enemy is now triumphant.
SS-SIX: overcoming the opposition, the enemy is rendered harmless.
SS-SEVEN: the enemy has been able to achieve his evil plans.
SS-EIGHT: but he is only partly successful.
SS-NINE: persistant hatred.
SS-TEN: insecurity in matters of friendship.

Disks

DD-KING: blond man, enemy or also indifferent.
DD-QUEEN: blond woman, enemy or indifferent.
DD-KNIGHT: a young blond man, a foreigner, an arrival, a letter.
DD-ACE: heritage, gifts, economy.
DD-TWO: difficulties concerning the establishment of wealth.
DD-THREE: moderate gain.
DD-FOUR: loss.
DD-FIVE: another transaction that restores the equilibrium.
DD-SIX: heavy loss.
DD-SEVEN: fortune.
DD-EIGHT: the established wealth is agian reduced by losses.
DD-NINE: durable fortune.
DD-TEN: changeable luck, gains and losses.
