Calling the Command.com!
Feeling stressed? Guilty? Sad? Overwhelmed? These are
all feelings Dot knows well and can manage in
superhuman ways! If you need to feel less of whatever
negative emotion you have, spruce up your psyche with
some Dotiness.
Attire
If there's one thing I've
learned about dressing like Dot, it's that
you don't have to dress completely
like Dot. Not only does this tend to frighten
nonbelievers, it's also difficult to do on a
regular basis. There's only so many peach
jumpsuits one can run through the wash at a
time, after all. So, instead, get a few
articles of clothing that remind you
of Dot. A grey sleeveless turtle neck?
Fantastic. You don't need matching
stretchpants and bizarre chest strap to get
the feeling. Wear tall boots, tight jeans or
a band around your upper arm. If all else
fails, put on the bright red lipstick and
black nail polish. A black-and-white icon
does wonders, of course.
Attitude
You won't feel half as
overwhelmed if you've got the right attitude.
You may not be in charge, but who cares? Give
the impression that you are, or that you
could be if needed. Walk as if you have a
purpose in mind. Examine whatever situation
you're in with cool precision. Be able to
hide your emotions if you need to to get the
job done.
Just Plain
Channeling
You're sitting in your
desk at school/work. You realize as your
teacher/boss strides by that you didn't do
your assignment. Hope seems distant and faint.
Don't sit and panic! Pull out your assignment
and panic! Imagine what Dot would do if she
were in your situation (of course, Dot wouldn't
be in your situation because Dot is never
late. But we can't all be like Her).
Focus intently on your work. If at all
possible, do this before the last
moment to save yourself time and misery.
