| I am now well under way with my project. Below is a list of mods that i am planning, and how far i have got with them. I'll try and organise some pics soon. Body Currently the body is pretty much standard. I have a GL Scorp front section to fit under the bumper (larger opening) and have started modifiying the lower section of the front guards. I'm going to run the door sill through to the rear of the wheel arch similar to an EA falcon. All locks will be shaved, leaving door handles only, as well as the fuel filler cap being shaved. This will be relocated either behind one of the tail lights or the centre section of the tail lights. Less visible mods to the body will be the rear floor section out of a JA Starion so i can use the IRS, and a general tidy up of the engine bay. I've already started on the engine bay by removing heaps of brackets and having some parts chromed and polished. Engine The original 2.0litre is long gone, and i have sourced a 2.6 to replace it. It has been bored 40thou (1mm) already, but i am going to fit hypertunic pistons, remove the balance shafts, Magna head and EFI, stage 2 cam and double valve springs. I'll be able to give a few more details as i get further into the build up. Running Gear I've already sourced a JA starion shell for the IRS, which has a 3.54:1 open centre diff. Gearbox is a 2.6 KM132 (Jap) box. Front struts are from a JA Starion, with the brakes from the same. I'll probably be getting new slotted discs from DBA. Interior The interior will be fully retrimed, yet to decide on colour. I will be using th Starion rear seat though to suit the floor, which will give rear seat passengers a bit more headroom. Yet to decide on a stereo system, but it will be something decent. |
