Happy New Year!
A new year is coming, the old is almost past
A future still unfolding is coming in with a blast

My wish for you is a new year and a new spirit filled with delight
As you watch the new years eve ball decend that last night

Enjoy the new year but bring with you some of the old
Because that is how we learn to appreciate the world as a whole

But mainly bring in the new year with hope and love
and don't forget to give thanks to God above.

New Years Are a Chance for a Beginning

New years are a chance for a beginning
Even when there hasn't been an end.
Wheels turn in an interminable bend,
Yet, marked in one spot, seem to wobble spinning.

Each year we hope to do a little better
Although we know that really nothing's changed.
Reason thinks that everything's arranged,
So we must dream if we would fate unfetter.
