This is a poem I wrote for my Mother, Lorene, last Mother's day.

I printed it in a card to send to her, but as it turned out,

I got to visit her for Mother's day and the week following.

This year I will not be with her in person, but she will be in my heart.

She was here last December, for three weeks, and she is spending

this Mother's Day with another daughter, so she won't be alone.

She always has been more like a friend to us chrildren,

Sacrificing many things that she needed, so we would have more.

These are some reasons she means more to me each year.

MOTHER

You always had a special way

Of knowing what to do and say.

You always seem to understand

How much I needed a helping hand,

And extra loving and patience too!

These are some reasons Mother Dear,

You mean more to me each year.

MOTHER

You always gave me so much

In loving words of comfort and praise.

You always seem to understand

How much I needed you to listen,

But to let me talk for awhile too!

These are some reasons Mother Dear,

You mean more to me each year.

MOTHER

For being warm and caring

In a way that's all your own,

For all the goodness in your heart,

The kindness you have shown,

For all the thoughtful things you do

In such a loving way. ~

MOTHER

Although we are miles away,

God love you... and God bless you

With a Happy Mother's Day.

I Love You!

This poem by Nicholas Gordon

describes how I feel about my Mother.

Your love is like the Arizona sun:

Always there, no matter what I do.

Bathed in light, I feel my love for you,

But words are gone before I have begun.

I don't know why I find it hard to say

The things that rest so deeply in my heart.

It seems almost impossible to start,

As though they're too ungainly to display.

I cherish you and what you feel for me.

I'm lucky that I have you for a mom.

I love you with a love that's sweet and calm,

And vast, like some unending inner sea.

You're the one I'm with when I'm alone;

You're the place within my heart that's home.

This is a poem my 2nd-born son sent to me last Mother's Day.

I will always keep it, and It's still in my heart.

I'm so proud of it.

"MOM"

Thank you for being "There".

Thank you for being my Inspiration.

Thank you very much for being "MOM".

Whenever in need of a most dear person,

You are always "There" in communication

or in Mind, Heart, and Body.

You are my Inspiration.

You have always settled the pain,

And wiped away the tears.

You have made me laugh, and taken away the fears,

You have brought and showed me Joy,

The "Sunshine radiates from you".

Sunshine, Joy, Happiness and much more,

Feelings of gladness for being alive, is what you are.

Thanks a Trillion for being "There."

Thanks a Trillion for being "MOM".

Love you Forever.

"Your Son,"

~Eddie~
