Kerth Fanfic Award Winners

These are the results, as reported to me by the chief vote-counter, Leanne Shawler. For many categories, she includes notes on how the voting went. Nominees, if you didn't win, you may at least find you were a close second - then again, you may find that you weren't... these results will be posted on other sites without comment, if you prefer them that way.

Best Comedy - Lois's Revenge/Clark's Response by BB Medos

(won by a landslide with remaining nominees clustered within a few votes of each other)

Best Tearjerker - Heaven's Prisoners by Demi

(close decision)

Best Dramatic Story - Love Beyond All Measure by Chris Mulder

(this was a close one!)

Best Fanboy Story - Faster Than a Speeding Bullet by Sheila Harper

(This story really won by a landslide (actually, the NO VOTEs won!) All the stories were excellent, however reader's choice proved out.)

Best Alt Story - Always Something There to Remind Me by Zoomway

(a landslide win)

Best Revelation/Lois - Dimensions of Loving by Chris Mulder

(This story also won by a landslide that even the NO VOTEs were no where near!)

Best Revelation/Others - Smallville Revelation by Pam Jernigan

(It pulled ahead early!)

Best Wedding Story - Going to the Chapel by Pam Jernigan & Sarah Wood

(another landslide win!)

Best Pregnancy/Delivery Story - When You Needed Me Most by Erin Klinger

(this was neck and neck with Jeff1s Unknown Emotions until the last two ballots!)

Best Next Gen Story - Good Night Metropolis by peabody

(What have ya got against this category? Not many votes!)

Best Alternate Beginnings - Meet Me in Kansas City by Chris Mulder

(*very* convincingly won!)

Best Rewrite - Forget Me Not, Redux by Pam Jernigan

(There was a close 3 way tie for a while, and then this story pulled out in front during the last 50 ballots sent.)

Best Early Years Story - The One / The Rules / The Long Road by Margaret Brignell

(another landslide victory)

Best Series - Love Beyond All Measure and Dimensions of Loving by Chris Mulder

Best Series Continuation - Season 5 (S5)

(This was a LANDSLIDE! It even beat the *no votes*!)

Best Fifth Season Episode - Mxysplit/All Myxed Up by Sheila Harper

(It was a close race in this category by Mxysplit and another.)

Best Music/Poem Adaptation - You Made Me Love You by Zoomway

(another very convincing win)

Best Poem - 'Twas the Day After...' poems by Sue Tremblay

(proving that stuffed ballots have absolutely no effect)

Best In-Betweenie - 12:01 by Zoomway

(Wow! By a LANDSLIDE!)

Best Lex Story - Dimensions of Loving by Chris Mulder

(There wasn't even a race in this category, Chris' story stood it's own ground and won by a very large margin.)

Best Tempus Story - Tempus Fugitive Revisited by Kaz from Oz

(pulled out ahead of what could1ve been a three-way tie)

Best Round Robin - Mirror Image by Sheila Harper, Zoomway, Pam Jernigan, Chris Paterson, Annette Ciotola, Jennifer Stosser, Peace, Kathy Brown, and Pat Heidkamp

(kept just ahead for much of the tallying, good thing it1s not up for next year1s!)

Best crossover - SwapMeet by Debby Stark/Margaret Brignell

(Actually this came in second to an overwhelming *no vote*!)

Best nfic - Heaven's Prisoners by Demi

(There was quite a race in this category. All 5 stories did very nicely in the overall votes. It was clear that the FoLCs definitely have different taste in nfic!)

Best Deathfic - Because You Loved Me by Michelle Putkoff

(honourable battle for second)

Best Elseworld - Counter Clark-Wise by Zoomway

(by an incredible LANDSLIDE!)

Best WAFFy story - Camping with Clark by Kathy Brown

(This fic won by a LANDSLIDE!)

Best Fic Overall - Meet Me in Kansas City by Chris Mulder

(This category was by far the closest race among the categories that I had. One interesting note was that Chris had 2 stories in this category. Both of those stories were in the lead at one point of the voting. KC won by a margin over Dimensions, with the other three trailing by only a few votes. Congratulations Chris!!!!!)

And a suprise that wasn't on the ballot...

Lifetime Achievement Award - Rhen Brink

For her invaluable efforts in distributing fanfic as the fandom was just getting started, the Kerth Awards Committee (Leanne, Pam, & Erin) are very pleased to recognize Renate Brink - and it should be noted that this idea also came up in #kerth_chat before we announced it :-) so that makes it nearly unanimous.

And that's all she wrote... congratulations to all the winners, and to all the nominees - and remember, the real winners are the fanfic *readers* <g>
