~*~Chapter Two~*~ The party was a smashing hit. Everyone was happy, and eating the wonderful food that Fujitaka and Touya had made. It was time to give the presents, and everyone lined up. They had rented a ballroom, to hold all of the people that had been invited. From Takashi and Chiharu she received a book of fables, from Rika and Yoshiyuki she got a lovely charm bracelet, and from Naoko she got a book of ghost stories, which was Naoko's gift for everyone. From Tomoyo and Sonomi she got a set of emerald earrings, and a matching pendant necklace. From Touya and her father she got an envelope containing set of plane tickets to Hong Kong. She was told not to open it until later, she would be told when. They all stood around, watching as Syaoran got down on one knee and pulled out an engagement ring. Sakura squealed in happiness and threw herself into his arms. Everyone started to talk and yell congrats at once, and only one person noticed Tomoyo slip out of the room, onto a large balcony off to the side. She stood at the railing, looking down at the ground below, not really seeing anything. She felt tears well up and spill over her eyelids. Great racking sobs rolled through her body, and she sat on the ground, crying her eyes out. She gasped and glanced up when she heard someone move near the door. She stared into the chocolate brown eyes of Touya, and she felt more tears spill out. He knelt in front of her and opened his arms. Not quite knowing why she launched herself into them. She sobbed into his shirt, only calming when he stroked her hair. He rocked her back and forth, crooning calming words to her. They stayed like that until he looked up and saw Syaoran standing in the doorway. They shared a knowing look, as they had both known that Tomoyo loved Sakura, no matter how hard she had tried to hide it. Touya looked down and saw that Tomoyo was asleep, still in his arms. Syaoran looked at him. "I'll go in and say that she didn't feel well, I'm sure that Mrs. Daidouji will understand that Tomoyo wanted everyone to stay and have fun while she went home" Touya nodded, he would take Tomoyo home, and put her to bed. He would come back after and help clean up. He stood up easily, and took the stairs down to the ground(a/n: oh? I didn't mention the stairs? Lol). He shifted her into his arms more comfortably and walked out to his car. He set her in the passenger seat, and grabbed a blanket he(a/n: quite conveniently I might add) had in the back. Placing it over her he walked over to the drivers side and started it up. He sped through the streets of Tomoeda. He turned into her drive, and stopped at the front door. He carefully lifted her out and gently woke her up. He needed her to unlock the door, and to show him where her room was. "keys in my purse.........fifth door on the left, third floor........." she was quickly asleep again after he got the information her needed. He sighed as he looked at the stairs that lead up to the second floor from the entryway. He grumbled about needing so many stairs as he trudged up the velvet carpeted marble stairs. He quietly kicked open the door to her room and stepped inside. He placed her on the king-sized silk draped four poster bed. ::seems a shame to ruin such a pretty dress by sleeping in it, but I think removing it would be overstepping the bounds just a wee bit:: he chuckled and was about to turn and go when she whimpered and latched on to his hand. He felt the jerk and turned back. He glanced down at her sleeping form and tried to pull his hand out of her death grip. She just held on tighter. He sighed, unless he wanted to wake her up, it looked as though he was staying just where he was. She twisted around and decided that he wasn't going to stand at the side of the bed all night. So he gently turned her and slid into the bed, laying on top of the covers, while she lay underneath. He sighed and settled in to sleep. Tomoyo woke up sometime in the middle of the night. She was so tired and depressed that she didn't even notice the brown eyed man laying asleep in her bed. She did, however, notice that she was still wearing her dress. :it'll be ruined if I sleep in it.:: she stood and pulled the dress over her head. She stood in her light violet lacy bra and underwear, and was about to slide back under the covers when she realized how hot she was. So instead of sleeping under the covers, she sighed and lay down on top. She was asleep in seconds, snuggling back against a warm body, laying behind her. She was so tired that she didn't even feel the arm that slipped around her waist. |
