Alexander Cherkov was born in Kharkov, Ukraine and immigrated to Israel in 1994.

In 1995 was nominated an "Eminent Artist" by the Committee for Immigrant Artists.

In 1997 was granted a Sculptural studio by the Ramat-Gan Municipality.

From 2000 he is teaching sculpture in the University Amamit in Tel-Aviv.

The works of Alexander Cherkov are displayed in Engel Gallery in Tel-Aviv, in "Leumi" bank in Jeruzalem, in "Asago Art Village" Japan, in "Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery" Hong Kong and many also in private collections in England, French, Israel, Russia, Switzerland, United States, Ukraine.

The sculptor lives and works in Ramat-Gan, Israel.
