My Friend
Two days after I got married my best girlfriend moved to Oklahoma. We kept in contact with letters and some phone calls, and lots of cards. Hallmark loved us!!! *laughing* But then the contact was fewer and farther between.... I had a new life. I was married to my best friend! She had a new life. She was adjusting to her new environment and new job. Our letters were fewer and farther between, fewer cards and very few phone calls. She got married and I had a new baby all within the same month so I missed her wedding because I couldn't travel. *pouting over that one even today* We did get to visit back and forth a few times and she even moved back home with her new little family a few years later, that didn't last long, they moved back to Oklahoma within a year. Our letters were very few and very far between and there were virtually no phone calls. We had drifted apart...

A couple years of no contact with my friend. I thought about her often, but never called or wrote even a little note. But then I had a major crisis in my life and guess who was there for me in a heart beat.... My best childhood girlfriend. It was a hard step for me to take... but I picked up the phone and called her. Within a minute it was if we had never lost contact. Now the phone company loves us!!!
