Jesse's Story
Jesse is our second child.  I spotted when I was 7 weeks.  It only lasted a day and it was very light, so I dismissed it because I thought everything was okay.  I could kick myself for that.  That was December 5, my birthday.  To my horror, everything was not okay.  On December 21, at 7 am, I got up and went to the bathroom.  I had been having bad pains all night.  I thought it was my bladder, as I have had alot of urinary tract infections.  I went back to bed after using the bathroom, and the pains got really bad.  Blood started gushing everywhere.  I had never had that much blood coming out with a period before.  It scared me and I told my husband that it was happening.  He looked and ran to call 911.  The ambulance came and took me to the ER.  When we got there, they took me to a room.  The nurse checked me and started an IV.  She took my blood pressure and my temperature.  She said a doctor would be right in.  They took me for an ultrasound to see if I had actually lost the baby.  The ultrasound confirmed it.  The baby was gone.  They didn't do a D&C, because everything was expelled.  The doctorsaid that the baby had died at about 7 weeks becuase the fetus was only about 7 weeks old.  He gave me some medicine to make my uterus contract and stop the heavy bleeding.  He checked me about an hour later, and said it was working.  He gave me a prescription to fill and take for three days after I went home.  After a couple of hours they discharged me and we went home again with empty arms.  To this day I regret not going to the ER when the first spotting happened.  It has been extra hard this time becuase I wasn't too far into the grieving process over Daniel's death.  Now I am compounded by the death of Jesse.  I long so much to hold my babies...
