Jonas Wyman settled in the northern part of Chatham near his
brother-in-law, Paul Chandler, in the 1790's.

(2) ELIZABETH (or BETSY) WYMAN, dau. of Jonas & Lydia, b. 28 May 1786;
d. in Salisbury, NH; m, Sept. 1838, JOHN HOBART of Franklin, NH.
(3) REUBEN WYMAN, son of Jonas & Lydia, b. 12 or 22 July 1789; d. 13
January 1858, in Bartlett, NH; buried with both his wives at So. Chatham
Cem.; m. (1st), 15 April 1811, SARAH (or Sally) WALKER (b. about 1793; d.
9 Nov. 1832), dau. of Benjamin & Bridget (Richardson) Walker of Chatham
and Fryeburg, ME. Reuben m. (2nd), 20 March 1834, MARY BAKER (b. about
1792; d. 22 July 1867). Reuben was residing in Chatham in the censuses
of 1820-1840. Eight children, as follows:

(3.4) HARRIET WYMAN, dau. of Reuben & Sarah. She is probably the
Harriet Wyman who was b. 1821; d. 13 Dec. 1898; buried with her husband
at West Fryeburg, ME, Cem.; m. JOSEPH T. SHIRLEY (b. about 1815; d. 29
July 1880). Joseph & Harriet were residing in Chatham in 1840 and
1850, and in Fryeburg, ME, in 1860. They had at least five children:
Reuben W. Shirley (b. about 1843); Mary B. Shirley (b. 1844; d. 1864; m.
Moses Charles); Charles E. Shirley (b. about 1847); Martha E. Shirley (b.
about 1851); and Aurilla A. Shirley (b. about 1857).

(3.6) NANCY WYMAN, dau. of Reuben & Sarah, b. 9 June 1827; d. 8 March
1907, in West Fryeburg, ME; buried with husband at North Fryeburg (ME)
Cem.; m. BENJAMIN WALKER McKEEN (b. 25 Dec. 1817; d. 5 Jan. 1894, in
Fryeburg), son of Henry C. & Sarah (Richardson) McKeen of No. Chatham.
Resided in Fryeburg; one child: Benjamin Walker McKeen (1849-1922; m.
Jennie Lovejoy). (See family of Henry C. McKeen.)
(3.7) BENJAMIN WYMAN, son of Reuben & Sarah.
(3.8) REBECCA WYMAN, dau. of Reuben & Sarah, b. 7 Feb. 1819; d. 13 Oct.
1896; buried with first husband at South Chatham Cem.; m. (1st), Capt.
WILLIAM BRYANT (b. 1811; d. 21 May 1862). They were residing at South
Chatham in 1850 and 1860. At least three children: Sally Bryant (b.
about 1839); Mary E. Bryant (b. 1845; m. Moses Harriman; see # 6.8 in
family of Amos Harriman); and William H. Bryant (b. about 1853). Rebecca
m. (2nd), as his 4th wife, 30 Nov. 1876, RICHARD CALDWELL of Bridgton, ME
(b. about 1806, in Oxford, ME), son of John & Sarah Caldwell.
(4) Capt. JONAS WYMAN, son of Jonas & Lydia, b. 15 Jan. 1791; d. 22 June
1853; buried with wife at Chandler Cem., N. Chatham; m., 12 Sept. 1816,
SALLY NOYES (b. 2 Nov. 1791, in Pembroke, NH; d. 23 Aug. 1860), dau. of
Daniel & Abigail (Ames) Noyes of Pembroke, NH. Sally married (1st), 24
Aug. 1815, Thomas Kast of Hopkinton, NH. Jonas resided at North Chatham;
four children, as follows:
(4.1) ELIZA WYMAN, dau. of Jonas & Sally, b. 15 Feb. 1818; d. 18 May
1908, in Chatham; buried with husband at Chandler Cem., N. Chatham; m.,
1839, her first cousin, MOSES FIFE (b. 8 Feb. 1818; d. 25 Aug. 1890), son
of Moses & Betsy (Noyes) Fife. Four children. (See further data under

(4.2) ABIGAIL WYMAN, dau. of Jonas & Sally, b. 26 July 1822; d. 9 Nov.
1909; buried with husband at Chandler Cem., N. Chatham; m., 4 Dec. 1845,
her second cousin, DANIEL CHANDLER (b. 22 Sept. 1821; d. 29 Dec. 1894),
son of David & Mehitable (Charles) Chandler of No. Chatham. Five

(1st), his second cousin, SUSAN CHANDLER (b. 26 Jan. 1831; d. 10 Sept.
1862), dau. of David & Mehitable (Charles) Chandler (See family of Maj.
David H. Chandler). Seth m. (2nd), 12 March 1866, CLARA or CLARINDA
ROLLINS (b. 3 July 1844, in Tamworth, NH; d. 26 Feb. 1925; buried with
her second husband at Riverside Cem., N. Fryeburg, ME), dau. of Asa &
Lydia (Durgin) Rollins of Chatham. Clara m. (2nd) Randall Hastings of
North Fryeburg, ME. Seth was a farmer; residing in Chatham, 1850, 1860
and 1870; residing in Fryeburg, 1880. Five children, as follows:
(4.3.1) JOSEPH LEAVITT WYMAN, son of Seth & Susan, b. 10 Oct. 1850; m.,
3 Nov. 1877, HANNAH L. EMERSON (b. 26 June 1852), dau. of Daniel & Hannah
(Abbott) Emerson of Chatham. Joseph was a conductor on the Portland &
Ogdensburg Railroad about 1883, and in 1907 he was residing in Toledo,
Ohio. No children.
(4.3.2) NANCY GREELY WYMAN, dau. of Seth & Susan, b. 5 June 1852; d. 24
July 1891; buried with husband at Eastman-Charles Cem., N. Chatham; m.,
23 April 1871, DEXTER CHARLES (b. 21 Aug. 1848, in Chatham; d. 15 March
1934, in Chatham), son of Bliss & Sarah (Ames) Charles. Three children.

(4.3.3) NELLIE F. WYMAN, dau. of Seth & Susan, b. 17 March 1856; d.
1934; buried with husband at Fish Street Cem., Fryeburg, ME; m., Oct.
1874, FRED C. STEVENS (b. 27 May 1851 or 1852; d. 1897), son of Augustus
V. & Clarissa D. (Green) Stevens. Residing in Fryeburg in 1880; he was a
trader in Gorham, ME, about 1883. At least two children: Gertrude
Stevens (b. about 1877); and Alice Stevens (b. about 1879).
(4.3.4) FANNIE NOYES WYMAN, dau. of Seth & Susan, b. 24 or 26 Sept.
1859; d. 22 March 1939; buried with husband at Fish Street Cem.,
Fryeburg, ME; m., 23 Feb. 1881, JOHN W. SMART (b. 15 April 1858; d. 6
April 1943), son of Ira & Esther (McIntire) Smart of Fryeburg. He was
engaged in the meat business in Boston about 1883.
(4.3.5) SUSAN CHANDLER WYMAN, dau. of Seth & Susan, b. 27 July 1862 or
1863; d. 10 March 1943; buried with husband at Pine Grove Cem., Fryeburg,
ME; m., 12 Jan. 1882, FRED W. POWERS (b. 31 May 1855; d. 29 Nov. 1952),
son of Jacob S. & Charlotte K. Powers of Fryeburg. He was supervisor of
schools in Fryeburg in the late 1800's.
(4.4) JONAS WYMAN, son of Jonas & Sally, b. 8 Dec. 1827; d. 24 Oct.
1863; buried with wife at Chandler Cem., N. Chatham; m., about 1855, MARY
ANN EASTMAN (b. 17 Dec. 1835, in Chatham; d. 16 June 1866), dau. of
Jonathan K. & Phebe W. (Clement) Eastman of Chatham (See #1.5 in the
family of Asa Eastman). A farmer at North Chatham; three children, as
follows:

in Chatham; d. 1939; buried with wife at No. 4 Cem., Lovell, ME; m. CORA
M. BARKER (b. 20 March 1866, in Fryeburg, ME; d. 1940), dau. of Charles
F. & Sarah E. (Eastman) of Fryeburg. In 1880 Francis was living with his
aunt Eliza (Wyman) Fife in North Chatham, and about 1901 he was a clerk
in Boston, MA. No further information.
(5) SARAH WYMAN, dau. of Jonas & Lydia, b. 14 May 1793; m., 13 Sept.
1816, GARDNER HOWE. Residing in Ogdensburg, NY, about 1883. Seven
children: Reuben Howe, Susan Howe, Sarah Howe, Mary Howe, Paulina Howe,
Betsy Howe, and Harvey Howe.
(6) LYDIA WYMAN, dau. of Jonas & Lydia, b. 16 May 1795; m., 13 or 15
Aug. 1820, CHANDLER G. HEATH. Residing in 1820 and 1830 in that part of
Batchelders Grant that is now Stow, ME. Residing in Waldwich, Wisconsin,
about 1883. Eight children: Mary Heath; Kimball Heath; Chandler Heath
(may have m. Emily Shirley); Almira Heath; Betsy Heath; Jonas Heath;
Lorian Heath,; and Seth Heath.
(7) ABIEL CHANDLER WYMAN, son of Jonas & Lydia, b. 20 Feb. 1798; d. 28
Dec. 1848; buried with wife at South Chatham Cem.; m., 13 or 15 Aug.
1820, HANNAH K. STEVENS (b. 17 March 1796; d. 6 Feb. 1881), probably dau.
of Hubbard & Susan Stevens of Chatham. Resided in South Chatham; four
children, as follows:
(7.1) CAROLINE WYMAN, dau. of Abiel & Hannah, b. 1822; d. 11 Jan. 1896;
buried with husband at Bemis Cem., Fryeburg, ME; m. WILLIAM D. STEVENS
(b. April 1817; d. 1 May 1906). Resided in Fryeburg and Stow, ME; at
least five children: Quincy William Stevens (1846-1922; m. Martha A.
Emery); Nancy Stevens (b. about 1848; m. Edmund Abbott); John A. Stevens
(1850-1914; m. Mary E. Kneeland); Phebe J. Stevens (b. about 1853); and
Ora N. Stevens (1863-1940; m. Charles E. Emery).

(b. 25 April 1838 in VT; d. 25 April 1889). A farmer residing in
Fryeburg, ME, in 1870. No further information.
(7.4) SUSAN K. WYMAN, dau. of Abiel & Hannah, b. June 1832; d. 9 Nov.
1893; buried with husband at Chatham Center Cem.; m., 27 Nov. 1851,
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN HARRIMAN (b. 19 Sept. 1829; d. 21 Feb. 1898), son of
James & Clarissa (Hazeltine) Harriman. Resided in Chatham; six children.
