INCREASE ROBINSON;
son of Gain and Lydia Robinson;
born 26 April 1756, in Abington, Massachusetts;
died in Standish, Maine (no stone with wife at Chatham Center Cemetery);
married, 11 March 1781, in Pembroke, Massachusetts:

MARY COX;
daughter of William and Mary (Josselyn) Cox; (See Family of William Cox);
born 13 May 1763, in Pembroke, Massachusetts;
died 4 February 1812, in Chatham, New Hampshire; buried at Chatham Center
Cemetery.

Increase and Mary Robinson left Cambridge, Massachusetts soon after their
marriage and apparently settled in Fryeburg, Maine, for their first child
was born there on October 12, 1781. In 1783 they settled, with the
William Cox family, at Chatham Center on land of Samuel Langdon, who was
then president of Harvard College.

(1)  INCREASE ROBINSON, JR., born 12 October 1781, in Fryeburg, ME;
married, 1807, ELIZABETH CROCKER (b. 1783), dau. of Roland Crocker of
Conway, NH.  Settled in Norway, ME, where he first went into business
with his uncle, William Cox, then later ran his own business.  In 1831,
the family moved to Skowhegan, ME.  Eight children, as follows:

(1.1)  ALBERT GALLATIN ROBINSON, son of Increase, Jr., b. 1809;  d. 1862,
in New Orleans, LA.; m. ADELINE NASH of Gray, ME.

(1.2)  MEHITABLE MERRILL ROBINSON, dau. of Increase, Jr., b. 1811; m.
LLEWELLYN KIDDER of Skowhegan, ME.

(1.3)  INCREASE ROBINSON 3rd., son of Increase, Jr., b. 1813; d. 1832, in
Boston, MA.

(1.4)  RICHARD ROLAND ROBINSON, son of Increase, Jr., b. 1815; d. 1874,
in Portland, ME; m. CAROLINE W. CALDWELL of Pittston, ME.

(1.5)  ELIZABETH ROBINSON, dau. of Increase, Jr., b. 1816; d. 1843, in
Skowhegan, ME.

(1.6)  CALVIN CROCKER ROBINSON, son of Increase, Jr., b. 1819; d. 1873,

white child born in Chatham; m., 12 July 1802, DAVID BELL; last Chatham
census listing in 1810.

(3)  CAIN ROBINSON, son of Increase & Maaary, b. 2 September 1792, in
Chatham.

(4)  O'NEIL WATSON ROBINSON, son of Increase & Mary, b. 21 September
1797, in Chatham; m. BETSEY STRAW, probably of Bethel, ME; settled in
Bethel in the 1820's, where he was engaged in business for a number of
years, then moved to Portland, and finally in 1839, to Waterford, ME.
Served in the Maine State Senate and as Sheriff of Oxford County from
1842 to 1850.  Eight children, as follows:

(4.1)  O'NEIL ROBINSON, Jr., b. 17 July 1824; graduate of Bowdoin
College; a Major in the Civil War; practiced law in Bethel, ME.

(4.2)  INCREASE SUMNER ROBINSON, son of O'Neil, b. 14 April 1826.

(4.3)  MARY ANN ROBINSON, dau. of O'Neil, b. 16 August 1827.

(4.4)  LIVINGSTON G. ROBINSON, son of O'Neil, b. 11 March 1829; d. in
Bethel, ME; m. ELLEN TOWN; was a businessman in Waterford, ME..

(4.5)  WILLIAM COX ROBINSON, son of O'Neil, b. 29 Nov. 1830; d. 5 Dec.
1835.

(4.6)  MOSES MASON ROBINSON, son of O'Neil, b. 14 April 1835; graduate of
Bowdoin College; a Captain in the Civil War from Waterford, ME (Co. G,
12th ME Regt.); practiced law in New York City; m. SUSAN EDWARDS BOOTH.

4.7)  AGNES FRANCES ROBINSON, dau. of O;Neil, b. 20 Oct. 1840; d. 11 Aug.
1863.
