Pretty Boy & SqueakWhen I lost my previous kitty I wasn't sure I wanted to get another one..........little did I know I would soon be caring for 2 of them. An across the street owner of a decrepit garage came over one day with a grey stripped Tomcat about as big as a piece of toast, and about as light as half a feather. Every time I picked him up he almost flew out of my hands into the air. I had never had a Tomcat before, but he was so loveable I simply had to adopt him. At first his name was "Kitty, Kitty" because he obediently came when I called that. Later this was changed to "Pretty Boy" "Squeak" was the next addition. The neighbor called one day asking if I knew there was a mother cat and seven kittens in my yard. The mother soon disappeared with three of the kittys, leaving me with four, living in their home under a back yard lumber pile. Of course they had to be fed, so I was out by the lumber pile twice a day with a serving of cat food. At first they scattered under the wood when I approached, but gradually they came to look for me, and were waiting for their food. Soon they were coming to meet me, then following me into the garage, and sometimes into the house. In the morning I could now hear them by the back door scratching and begging to be fed. I couldn't keep all of them, so sent three to a lovely animal shelter in Michigan, operated by a local female lawyer. I kept "Squeak". "Squeak" was so named because she didn't know how to meaw like other cats.........her meaw's came out in a "squeak" I often tell them that if they don't behave they're going to be barn cats again, and here's what they say to that.
