[ Thru the Eyes of Prey | Tropical Island | School Yard | Halloween Mice | Turkey Stalking | Tree of Mine ]
By: Sassy I was laying on the floor, minding my own business, when some huge human came over and threw me across the floor! What did I do? Then this huge monster cat came running after me and pounced on me! This monster started growling at me and biting and scratching me. I tried to hide under the furniture, but that darn monster started meowing and the human came and found me and threw me back in the middle of floor for that monster to get me again! I can't even protect myself, as I can't move. I'm just a little catnip mouse, what can I do? By: Tabitha Taylor My name is Gray Mouse. I'm a little synthetic furry gray mouse that is hunted all the time by this little gray kitten, they call Tabitha. Since we live in the same house and I'm Tabitha's main prey, she usually hunts me down everyday or night. When Tabitha hunts me, she's very fast with good reflexes, being an indoor prey is hard with this kitten is hard as I'm her favorite prey. Everyday she come up to me, then starts batting me around with both her front paws. Then she flicks me up into the air and grabs me. She picks me up with her mouth and shakes me all around. Sometimes when I'm on the floor she'll run up and pounce on me. She also likes pulling the hair off me...I'm usually bald within a few days. She also like to bite my tail off. When she's done with me, she carries me away in her mouth to a place where she's decided to hide me from her brother and sister. I really hope she finds a new favorite prey to give me a rest at least for awhile. The next day it all happens all over again. By: Shadow As I landed on a tree to rest from my long flight and have a meal of bugs, I seen this little black cat silently stalking around the tree. I figured I was safe since I was so high up and on a small branch, so I continued to eat. The next time I looked around this little black cat was at the other end of the tree branch I was on. The cat wasn't moving, just laying there staring at me. I flew to another branch but that darn cat followed me. As I took off for the last time, to go to another tree, this black cat raised her paw and caught my wing. Oh no, now I was hurt and couldn't fly very well! The cat came closer and closer, only slower now since I couldn't get away. I tried running but the cat was so fast! Finally I gathered my courage and jumped to the ground. The cat followed but then a human came out and grabbed the kitty and took it into the house. Oh my, what a close call! By: Tabitha Taylor If I were stranded on an uncharted tropical island, the first thing I'd do would be hide for a little while. I'd find a big bush or so something similar to that, hide in it and watch my surroundings without anyone being able to see me. I'd hunt the big white, fluffy tropical birds and the bright colorful birds. Besides the tropical birds, I'd hunt the insects and squirrels that are found everywhere. When I was done eating, my prey, if there were any leftovers, I'd find some place to hide then remains for another time. I've survived before so I cold probably do it again, aside from eating my prey, I'd drink water from nearby bodies of water. Of course you can't survive anywhere without naps. On sunny day, I'd find a comfy place to nap and nap in the bright sunshine. If I needed shelter, I'd get my shelter from one of the many palm tree's. If something made me wary, I'd go jump in the nearest bush. As for leaving the island, if I liked it, I would want to stay. As much as I'd want to come home to my meowmie, I don't like the idea of being surrounded by water. Although with time I may change my mind. By: Sassy Oh mew, the first thing I would do is relax and enjoy the peace and quiet :) I think it would be neat to hunt all of the prey I've never seen, like fishies, strange birds, frogs, and of course lots of strange spiders and bugs. There are so many different types of prey on islands that there wouldn't be a problem with eating. I'd spend my days climbing the trees and my nights hunting and sleeping in caves or soft grass. I would survive by my wonderful catly instincts and determination. Eventually I would have to try to leave the island because I'd miss my family and wouldn't want them to worry about me. I would also miss the pampered life I have grown used to. By: Shadow If I were stranded on an uncharted island I would spend my time there hunting and relaxing. I would pretend that I was a panther and hunt some fun and unusual prey, such as lizards, different species of birds, bugs, and rodents. It would be hard making it on my own, but I would use my kitty smarts to survive! I'm an excellent hunter so eating would not be a problem. However, it would be furry lonely and I would miss my family so I'd have to find a way off of the island, even if it meant swimming! By: Gigi Actually I don't think being on a Tropical Island would be all that bad. As long as there were birds to hunt and bugs to catch I would probably be ok food wise. And if there were mice or small rodents running around- well, things would be actually be pretty good. I think roasting rodents over a camp fire might even be kind of fun. I don't think I would bother too much with lizards or snakes or anything like that. That a little too exotic for me palate. I am much more like the All-American kitty who likes the All-American diet of mice and birds. The big problem for me would be all the rain and storms. That can be an awful lot of water for a kitty who doesn't like to get her paws wet. One little Hurricane would be more than enough to send me looking for the nearest boat to home. Or better yet a plane. Or even better....old Scotty from the Enterprise could beam me home. Being on an island might be fun for a short period of time- but I would miss my bed and my closet and all my toys. And even though I am an indoor city cat - whose hunting mainly consists of dust bunnies and moths, I tend to like the comforts of home much more than I like traveling anywhere. Still........I have to smile at the image of a mousie-roast over a campfire ............yum-yum-yum.
By: Sassy Mews, the first thing I would like to hunt in a school yard is those book worms that everyone talks about :) It would also be lots of fun to play and shred all of the test papers and lesson plans. Oh, and how exciting it would be hunt all of the mice and frogs they use for biology projects! Of course, I would also convince the students and teachers to play with me and pet me! By: Shadow Sassy told me they used critters for biology experiments, so of course those would be on the top of my list. I also think it would be fun to chase the chalk and erasers around the classrooms. Not to mention shredding all of the text books, that's always fun! I'd get lots of attention and treats from all of the students and teachers, who couldn't resist my kitten charm :)

Putting myself into the feet of a turkey, how positively inelegant, but never
mind for this purpose I shall have to, I would first start to stalk by keeping
quiet and stopping that silly gobble gobble sound - honestly prey would hear
me coming a mile way. Then I would camouflage my gaudy eye make up
with some mud or something, absolutely give away that is.
Having readied myself, I would first go in search of prey, walking very
quietly and carefully. Prey spotted I would endeavour to find a
suitable "hide" so I could observe the preys movements and habits
and to further ascertain whether the prey is of a suitable type and size.
Then when completely satisfied I would POUNCE quickly and quietly onto the
most vulnerable part of the selected prey and GOBBLE it to the finish!

By: BeBeast Meows. Here is my tree. I have specially decorated it with little mices for all the kitties to enjoy. At my house my meowmie puts the tree in a 5 gallon bucket so when we climb it it does not fall over as easily. Our tree is decorated with things the kids have made. No tinsel or any glass objects are on it. RC and Mama told me about the tree since this will be my first Christmas. Purrs BeBeastkitty
