Hints on posting your ad which make life less hellish and surreal
~ Keep notes underneath each link including your login name, password, ad # if applicable, and date you posted. These are always crucial to changing, renewing, or deleting your ad. If you ignore this hint, YOU WILL GO INSANE, but don't tell me I didn't tell you so.
~ I recommend using an anonymous email service, such as Hotmail or Yahoo, which is reserved only for the personal ads. If you don't do this, your regular email account will quickly turn into a monster, grow eight heads, and haunt you until you go insane (see above).
~ Delete junk responses which you'll never reply to right away. Your email service has a size limit, and if it's full of junk, nobody else will be able to write to you. Besides, "put my fat cock in ur mouth now whore" is a depressing thing to see staring at you for any length of time.
~ Many of the sites have a size and content limit for posting. Common limits are no more than a certain number of words or characters, no email addresses, or no URLs. If your ad is too long, create a short version and tell them to ask you for more information, then give them your URL when they write to you. A few sites will require you to log back in to read your messages, so make a note of those to keep up on.
~ Long experience has shown me that while posting photos results in more responses, the extra quantity consists of more low-quality "fuck me" types. On the other hand, not posting photos results in hundreds of annoying letters asking you for your pic. Take your pick of which evil will make you less insane.
~ When posting on message boards of any type, make sure to include your email address and a reminder to "please email me, I don't check messages here regularly". Otherwise, you'll either miss all the responses or have to keep reading through the posted messages, which will make you -- you guessed it! -- go insane.
~ Many ads have a short "shelf-life" and will either expire or go to the bottom of a search list quickly. Best results are from re-posting in a particular site every 6 weeks or less, depending on its traffic. Also, don't get over-excited and delete your ad when first talking to someone you like. Unfortunately, most of the time they'll say something horrible soon, and you'll need to keep looking.
~ There are many people who will write to you who have ALREADY GONE INSANE. Delete them and block their email addresses. Verbal sparring with such people usually encourages them to go further, whether it's annoying antics such as posting lies about you or flooding your mailbox, harmful tactics such as hacking your computer or sending you viruses, or downright criminal acts such as stalking and death-threats.
