Hampton Inn Pool Patio, Guntersville, Alabama

On Friday evening, as part of the F-Company Memorial Ceremony, the veterans and their families went outside for a flag disposal ceremony. At the beginning of the ceremony, the Pleage of Alligeance to the Flag was recited by the group. The meaning of each step in the ceremony was read. The flag was torn stripe by stripe with each one being placed on the fire by a veteran or a family member. The blue field was placed on the fire last by the company historian and driving force behind the reunions, Leonard Hall. Taps were sounded at the conclusion of the flag disposal ceremony. The remainder of the Memorial Ceremony was concluded back indoors.

Several veterans spoke about their memories of World War II and lessons learned which are applicable to the world today. Also, several persons spoke in gratitude for the service of these men and all men serving in American Armed Forces around the world today.

The ceremony began with the pledge to the flag and an explanation of the steps
in the disposal process.

The flag was torn apart stripe by stripe and each stripe handed to
a veteran.

Each veteran placed a stripe upon the flame.

Family members were also included.

The field of blue was placed on the flame last. Taps were played.

The ceremony then moved back inside for more
moving remarks and heartfelt tributes.
