When I was in sixth grade, my mom asked if I wanted to go bowling every Tuesday. Not knowing why, and thinking it would be fun, I agreed. When the first Tuesday rolled around, I had completely forgotten about it, so I asked my mom if we could go on Wednesday. She said, "No, we have to go now." When we got there I realized what was going on, my mom had signed me up to do community service for a program called T.A.S.K. This stands for Team activities for special kids. She found out about it because she works for special school district, and someone there is in charge of running it.

T.A.S.K. started in 1996, introducing tee-ball. Since then they have expanded to include basketball, soccer, hockey, tennis, dance, volleyball, bowling, and golf, among various others. When T.A.S.K. started there were 26 kids, now there are over 800, with over 200 volunteers. The 800 athletes all have different disabilities, both mental and physical. Besides provide activities for the special needs kids, T.A.S.K. also provides social clubs and activities that are non-athletic. Aside from the kids, T.A.S.K. also provides a network for parents to communicate about problems and solutions of their children's disabilities.

Team Activities for Special Kids is a great organization, giving faith to children who never had it before. It gives them something to look forward to. It puts faith in them when no one else would. They are trying to raise money right now to construct a T.A.S.K. building, complete with a swimming pool and 3 gymnasiums. They are getting donations from all kinds of organizations. T.A.S.K. is a good example of people putting faith in other people in order for those people to give faith back.
