A look at the past:

The history of the armors before the series.
(as I beleive it)

1000 years ago Arago first came to the ningenkai, but was defeated by Kaosu. It wasn't until the Sengoku period that he came back to try and reclaim his armor only to find it had been seperated into the nine. But where did the nine yoroi go after Kaosu created them, and what happened to them until they were given to the guys? Here's my opinion.

Heian era (794-1185)
- Arago appeared in the human world.
- Kaosu defeated him and created the 9 Yoroi.
- Kaosu sealed the yoroi away in different Shrines.
-These Shrines were located in different parts of Japan.
    -Rekka = Shinshu
    -Korin = Tohouku
    -Suiko = Choshu
    -Tenku = Kansai
    -Kongo = Kanto
    -Doku = Satsuma (Kyuushuu)
-Oni = Yamashiro (Lit: Mountain Castle; Near Kyoto; Possibly Mt. Hiei)
-Gen = Yamato (Near Nara; first capital of Japan)
-Yami = Northern Japan (As far north as was possible at the time)

Explinations
I want to take a moment to explain the reasoning behind these placements. I looked at the wearer and where the wearer was from. Since the current weilders of the yoroi were the first to ever weild them, then it would be possible to assume that the area that that family came from would be where the yoroi was hidden.

The Sanada's were from the Shinshu area which is near Nagano in the mountains. It is possible that the yoroi was put in a shrine in that area and the protection of that yoroi was eventually given to whoever had the most control in that area being later the Sanada but probably first off the Takeda who the Sanada's paid their loyalty to. The Takeda were eventually done away with (mainly by the hands of Nobunaga) and the Sanada's were believed to have hidden out in the mountains of that area.

The Date family is from northern Japan known as the Tohouku region. Masamune Date originally held his domains as most of the known northern area of the time. His main fortress being farther into the mountainess region for better pretection. It wasn't until after Tokugawa took reign that his base moved to Sendai.

The Mouri family has always lived in the southern tip of Honshu (the main island). Motonari Mouri was originally born near what is now known as Hiroshima. Since it was the Mouri's that had control of this area, known as the Choshu area, it is possible that the Mouri family has always protected Suiko.

The Hashiba/Toyotomi family was pretty powerful in their time. Just check out my bio page and you'd know what I mean. Toyotomi had castles in a couple different areas of the Kansai, but either way, his main control was in that area (even though he actually ruled most of Japan in his time). It's possible that Nobunaga originally had watch over the yoroi but upon his death Toyotomi took control. (It's also possible that Toyotomi didn't know about this armor and the secret died with Nobunaga!)

The Shu family. Now we all know that Shu is not related to Yoshitsune Minamoto or Ganges Khan. But what we do know is that Tokugawa originated from the Kanto region and his reign was in the Kanto as well. As I believe it, Tokugawa was originally the protector of Kongo, but upon their demise somehow the Shu family took over that task. (maybe China town was built upon the old shrine??)

The Masho were harder to figure out since not much is known about their past. However, I just happened to have a map in one of my books that shows were their homes were. And after I looked at them, they kinda made sense.

-Nazza is from Kyuushuu, the southern tip.
-Sh'ten is from Yamashiro (Lit: Mountain Castle) And it's near Kyoto.
My guess is that it could be upon Mt. Hiei which was a very
            prestigious mountain in that area.
-Rajura is from Yamato which was the first capital of Japan.
Ever. There is no actuall Yamato city in that area (that I
could find anyways) But it is just south of Nara (where the
            second capital exsisted)
-Anubisu is from northern Japan. Probably as far north as was
known to them in the early Sengoku period.

Now if you look at their placings on a map, you see that Doku and Yami are at the two extremes of the country while Gen and Oni are in two places of prestige (in or near two former capitals of the nation). Also according to the map in my book, Gen is near the lake where Nastui, Jun, and Sh'ten find the Jewel.

Sengoku Period(1573-1600)

- Now the yoroi would remain sealed until they were reawakened for
    either good or evil.
- With the events of the Sengoku period and all the pain and
turmoil that was going on, Arago was somehow able to make
small apperances into the mortal relm. However he no longer had
his yoroi to aid him so he couldn't even dream of making a full
    entrence to take over.
    - The Masho were all warriors for their respective families and
were very powerful warriors at that.
    - Arago used his power to convince the Masho to join him and to
find the yoroi to gain this power.
      - It is possible that Arago knew where the yoroi was, but
lacked the ability to retreive the yoroi himself since they
        were guarded by Shrines.
      - The Masho however were not evil at this time, they only
wanted power. (They probably still prayed to the gods for
protection and such) So they were able to make their way
into the shrines and awaken the yoroi. (of course because of
        Arago it was for evil)
    - Also during this time, he kiddnapped Kayura.

WWII(Showa Period 1926-1989)

- The remaining yoroi were left untouched untill probably around
WWII. (We see in Message where Kaosu awakens Tenku)
    - Kaosu awakens the remaining yoroi because of the war (he
doesn't want the pain and turmoil to allow Arago back into the
human world so he could recruite more masho). He awakens them
to good and gives them to a family that he remembers was once
a powerful force in that region, and has the right
soul/heart/spirit (the virtues that is) to properly take care
and possibly weild the yoroi. (Mouri's Hashiba's and Date's)
However there are no more Tokugawa's that could weild the
yoroi. So for some reason I have yet to think of he gave it to
      the Shu's.
-However he still had no weilder for Rekka.
-Possibly he did not feel that the Sanada's were right in
weilding it since their switch to ninjitsu. And possible other
        causes.

1987

-A year before Arago appeared he came upon Ryo, a Sanada who no
longer belonged to the Sanada clan, and decided that this boy
would be the one that would weild the yoroi.

1988

-Arago Appears

That's my thoughts for right now. As always let me know what you think, either in the guest book or e-mail me
