Chapter Twelve

In the dark bleak throne room that once belonged to Talpa remained as it had then only someone else was seated upon the throne.
"Talpa thought his warlord of illusion was successful in tearing one of the Ronin's apart, but my warrior of deception has town them all apart!" Red Wing laughed, "you have done good"
"Thank you my lord." She replied kneeling down before him.
"But, I no longer need your assistance." Red Wing seethed.  The warrior looked up shocked, but she didn't even get a word out before she was dead. "You were weak, but my new warlord is strong."

The night was calm, and everyone was tucked away in bed.  Everyone, but Sarah. She found it hard to sleep and when she could finally drift off she was met with a nightmare, each one worse then the last.  This time though, it was enough to make her sit straight up in bed.  Sweat drenched her face.  She looked at the door and could see some fog disappear.  At once she looked over on her nightstand and was met with the presence of only one orb.
"Shit, he's got his armor!" Sarah exclaimed as she jumped out of bed and headed out the door to follow the fog.  Whiteblaze had been sleeping in the hall so he could watch all his charges, and was aroused by Sarah walking by him.  He glanced up and noticed that Torrent had been here, and cursed himself for not noticing.  He bounded into Ryo's room, jumping onto the bed.
"White Blaze, what are you doing?" Ryo asked as he pushed the tiger off.  White Blaze grabbed his arm and pulled on it.  "What is it boy?" Ryo looked to the door as Sarah walked by and jumped from the bed and ran after her.
    "Sarah, where are you going"
"He was here.  He found his armor." Sarah replied glancing back at Ryo.
"Then let him have it." Ryo stated stepping in front of Sarah.
"No, I have to fight him.  It's the only way." Sarah stated walking past him.  Ryo grabbed her shirt to keep her from going.
"I can't let you go alone, at least wait till I wake up the others.  We'll all go together."
"Ryo, I know you're trying to protect me, but I can take care of myself.  I have to fight him.  You know that." Sarah stated pulling her shirt from his grasp and heading out the door.
"What's going on out here?" Sage asked walking out into the hall.
"Sarah just left to fight with Cye, get the others, we have to stop her." Ryo commanded and Sage ran into Kento and Rowen's rooms.

Sarah ran as fast as her legs could take her.  The fog had covered every part of the lake and she could see nothing in front of her.  She noticed that somehow she had reached the other side of the lake, the field her first battle against Cye had taken place.  Stopping and looking around she could hear the guys yelling for her trying to find where she had gone.  Suddenly a laugh covered up the voices of her friends.
"Cye? Is that you?" Sarah asked into the fog.  The laugh continued, mocking her, knowing she couldn't find him.  "Cye, come out and fight!"
"I'm right here, girl" Cye smirked.  Sarah spun around to find that the fog around her had dissipated, and on the lake was Cye in Torrent.
"Cye, I know you can still hear me.  You have to fight the control he has over you!" Sarah stated knowing it probably wouldn't work.
"You are pathetic, that only works in the movies.  And this, my dear, is real life.  Prepare to die!!

    SUPER WAVE SMASHER!!!"

Sarah dodged from the attack and knew there was no avoiding what she had to do.  With one quick motion she donned her armor in a flash of wallpaper and cherry blossoms.
"You think that pathetic armor will aid you?" Cye asked with a smirk on his face, "Even if it were to be strong enough, you wouldn't have the guts to kill this body, now would you."
"I would do anything to save my friends." Sarah stated as she unsheathed her katanas.
"I guess we'll have to see about that then won't we?" Cye laughed as he jumped into the air.

"Where did she go?" Kento asked as he tried to see past all the fog.
"I don't know." Ryo replied worried.
"Listen." Sage instructed.  In the distance they could hear the fight going on.
"They're across the lake." Rowen yelled running along the shore.

The two went back and forth, Cye would attack and then Sarah, neither gaining nor losing to the other. Sarah finally saw a hole in his attack and went for it; he was caught unaware and knocked back to a shallow area of the lake.  He was mad that she had gotten him, and went after her even stronger then he had before.  He went for a stab in the midsection, but Sarah blocked it with her katanas.  Cye knowing what he was doing made the blades clamp down onto the swords and then tore them from Sarah's grasps, and throwing them into the lake.  Sarah, now without weapons backed up till she was against a tree and had no where else to go.
"Your attempt to save this soul has failed.  Now you will die!

    SUPER WAVE SMASHER!!!"

The sure kill hit Sarah dead on; she had nothing to protect herself from the sting of the evil water.  The acid that came out of the yari started to eat though her armor, and into her skin.  Sarah fell to the ground unable to move without having shocks of pain rack though her body.
"You have done good." Red Wing announced as he appeared behind the evil Torrent, "Now, the Earth armor will be mine. Come to me!! "  Sarah looked up and saw Cye still standing over her and Red Wing standing a way behind them. He was saying something, but Sarah couldn't hear it.  A sharp pain ran though her body and she tried not to show her pain, but the scream wouldn't listen and left her mouth.  In the distance Sarah could barley hear the yell of the guys as they approached, but she could no longer keep her eyes open as she slowly lost conciseness?
"Sarah!!" Kento screamed as her ran ahead of the others.
"What did you do to her??" Sage asked as he took a protective stance between Sarah and Cye.
"I took her precious armor for my use.  And now I will have Torrent as well, I no longer need the puny body inside."  Red Wing stated.  Cye turned away from Sarah, his eyes glowing a bright red.

The next thing Sarah saw was blackness.  All around her was nothing but blackness.  In a way it comforted her, but then she was alone.  The one thing she didn't want again, she had.   She was alone, with no one anywhere near her.
"You must not give up!" A voice stated.  Sarah looked around, but saw no one.
"Who's there?" She asked into the void.  A few feet in front of her a girl not much older then herself appeared.  She had long brown hair and a white dress that flowed from a nonexistent wind.
"I am Katelynn.  Your ancestor." The girl answered.
    "M... my ancestor?"
"Yes, you must listen to me.  If you do not understand the past it is doomed to repeat itself.  I have made that mistake already, I do not want to see you do it again." Katelynn explained.
"I don't understand.  How do you know?" Sarah asked confused.
"I do, you must trust me.  Red Wing took the same thing from both of us.  Our loved ones and our friends.  You must not fail!"
"What happened? So I know," Sarah said determined not to lose.

Red Wing held up his hand and a red blast of pure energy raced for Cye.  The guys stood in horror, not knowing of anything they could do to prevent the events that were taking place.  They stood and watched as Cye's armor and sub armor disappeared just as the blast hit.  Cye flew back and hit a nearby tree with a sickening thud.  Blood ran from his mouth and his eyes went dead.  Sarah opened her eyes just in time to see his body slump to the ground.  She pushed the pain that racked her body and stumbled over to him.
"Cye, Cye please, hold on.  Sage will heal you!" Sarah said placing his head on her lap.  Cye's eyes still lifeless looked up at her, giving her chills.
"There's nothing he can do.  It's too late.  I'm sorry... for everything." Cye whispered with his last breaths.
"No, Cye, you have nothing to be sorry for." Sarah started but Cye hushed her.
"Let me say this.  I'm sorry I never told you before how I felt.  I put you though a lot of pain." Cye's breathing became more labored as he slowly slipped from this life; "I care for you...  Sarah, I love you with all of my heart.  I was just too foolish to see it for myself…"  Cye's body went limp just as the last words left his mouth.  Sarah felt his chest and could feel his heart slowly stop beating.  Trust flared to life on his head and then slowly faded away as his last breaths left his body.
"NO!!!!" Sarah screamed.  The guys stood around the two to protect them as much they could.  Kento knelt down next to Sarah and slowly pried her arms from around his body.
"Don't worry, we'll avenge his death" Kento swore as he helped her up.
"So what are you going to do? I have Torrent now." Red Wing laughed, "And soon I'll have your armors as well."
"You'll never get our armors." Rowen yelled nocking an arrow.
"Right.  You'll have to kill us first." Ryo stated stepping forward.
"Very well, if you wish to die." Red Wing said as Rowen pulled back the string of his bow, but he was never able to let it fly.  Red Wing sent a blast of energy that broke through his armor and right into his heart.  Life flared to life and then faded away.
"Rowen!" Ryo yelled as Kento prevented Sarah from seeing the sight.
"Now I have seven, three more to go." Red Wing laughed, "Shall we do it now, or do you want some time to give up?"
"What does me mean, Ryo? What about Kayura and the Warlords..." Sage asked looking over at their leader.
"Those stupid warriors.  They never had a chance, and neither will you." Red Wing laughed
"RYO!!" a voice called as Mia and Yuli approached riding White Blazes back.
"Mia, Yuli, get out of here now!!!" Ryo yelled panicked by their sudden appearance.
"This is none of your business!!" Red Wing snorted as he shot the wave of energy at the three sending them flying back, killing them, just like he had Rowen.
"No...." Ryo said shaking his head, "NO!!!"
"Ryo...  Calm down." Sage said putting his hand on his shoulder, "Let's work together."
"Right, see if you can concentrate on two people attacking you." Ryo yelled as he and Seiji attacked.  Together, they got in one hit before they both fell to the ground.  Wisdom and Virtue flared to life and then faded away.
"What about you? Are you as foolish as your friends?" Red Wing asked stepping over the fallen Ronins.
"Kento, don't.  Please.  I couldn't stand to loose all of you!" Sarah begged looking Kento in the eyes.  He turned his head looking down.
"You know I can't.  Remember, I rush into battles without thinking.  I can't just stand here and let my friends die and not do anything." Kento stated and looked back up at RedWing. Sarah's tears ran down her face.  He let go of her and turned toward Red Wing, his niginata ready for action.  Sarah didn't look.  She turned her head and heard his yell, and the sound of his body falling to the ground.  She peaked from her eyes and saw Justice flare to life and then fade away.
"It looks like it's your turn girl.  Now where were we? Ah, yes, I was just about to finish taking your armor from you." Red Wing said as he approached Sarah.  She backed up and tripped over Cye's body falling to the ground.  She looked up and around at her fallen friends, tears coming to her eyes.
"I promise I won't give up." Sarah swore as she remembered what Katelynn had shown her.

"Shin, had defeated me, I was at his mercy. My friends could not help. They weren't going to attack their friend, and they knew I would not let them kill him.  He was about to run me through, when the Ancient One's spirit appeared...

"You must see the light!" The Ancient One yelled as his staff lit up. Shin shielded his eyes from the light but could not stop the effects.  The light allowed the Shin Katelynn knew to take control back, but he was not strong enough to sustain the damages from what Badamon had done to him.  "Now, you must stop Red Wing, Katelynn." The Ancient one exclaimed.  Katelynn painfully stood up leaning on Stardust who had come to help. The Honor appeared on her brow and she knew what she must do.
"Stardust, will you help me?" Katelynn asked.
~ Yes, of course I will. ~ Stardust replied nodding. Katelynn closed her eyes as the Ancient One held the staff to the sky. Power surged out of it and toward the Nether world stars.

Sarah looked up at the warlord who now stood directly above her.  Red Wing laughed at the tears that ran down the mortals' face and raised his hand to her face ready to send her to her grave, but something unexpected happened.  Her eyes turned a bright blue and a wave of energy threw the warlord back to the edges of the lake.  Sarah stood up; her tear stained face determined.  Honor flashed and her armor of the Earth reformed around her.

The stars grew brighter and when it seemed that they could not be any brighter bolts of energy connected with the ground around Katelynn and Stardust. Inside the shower of energy Katelynn's armor disappeared and a white flowing dress replaced the brown armor. Katelynn and Stardust became engulfed in a glowing bright white light.  It expanded till you could no longer see the two inside and then burst into dust.  The stardust then formed back into Katelynn wearing a silver armor. She raised her hand into the air and a No-Datchi formed in her hand.

The stars above her brightened and a bright golden shower of stardust rained upon her.  As the stardust touched her brown armor is spread to create a golden glow.  The glow changed and formed new parts of the armor, creating the silver armor of her ancestor.  She raised her hand into the air as a No-Datchi formed in her hand.

CELESTIAL TIGER ATTACK!!!!

Energy from the heavens channeled itself through the sword, and toward Red Wing.  He saw before him the image of a heavenly tiger.  The energy she released engulfed the entire area around her.  Red Wing was about to get hit when Talpa teleported him away.  After all the energy died down Katelynn looked around.  All her friends were on the ground motionless.  She collapsed drained from the action; her armor glowing again and they all disappeared.
"You have failed me for the last time Red Wing!" Talpa yelled as the warlord kneeled down before his master, You are now condemned to the farthest corner of the Nether Realm."  Red Wing nodded, as he was spirited away to his imprisonment. "Are you ready to serve me my Dark Warlords of Cruelty, Corruption, Illusion, and Venom?!" Talpa asked of four who stepped from the shadows of the dark room.
    "Yes Master..."

Sarah leaped into the sky holding the sword straight to capture the energy that fell from the stars.  The energy formed at the point of the sword and when it held as much as it could she swung it down yelling the words told to her by her ancestor.  A tiger straight from the heavens came down onto Red Wing.  He had no one to save him this time.  When the light died down, all was quiet.

"I appeared in a strange place, but I recognized it as being near where Seiji had been placed.  I was taken in by a nice family and given a home. Later I found out that my family thought that I had died, and I knew I could never go back." Katelynn looked down; "I failed my friends. They all died and Red Wing got away.  You can not let him win. You have to kill him, or your descendants will go through the same thing"

Sarah stood away from her friends.  She didn't want to see their battered and broken bodies.  She turned away and looked over the lake at the moon that shone in the sky.  The armor she now wore glowed brightly and pulled itself away from Sarah. The energy formed a figure that floated on the water of the lake.  She wore a flowing white dress and had a tinge of blue in her brown eyes.
"Katelynn?" Sarah asked looking up at the figure before her.
"No, I am not Katelynn, nor am I Stardust, but a combination of their two souls.  I am the armor.  I am Celestial Tiger." The figure spoke in two voiced one echoing the other.
"I guess I failed.  My friends are dead.  History repeated itself." Sarah said as she looked down.
"You are right.  History did repeat itself, but you did not fail." Celestial Tiger responded, now in one voice, her own.
"What do you mean?" Sarah asked her eyes wide.
"When Katelynn and Stardust first created me.  Katelynn did not realize that Stardust was the only one that sacrificed her life.  Her friends did live, but because of a wish they were sent to different places to make it come true.  She wanted that they would never have to go through this again, and with the armors separated, they did not have to." Celestial Tiger explained.
"But my friends are dead,  Red Wing killed them!" Sarah yelled fresh tears coming to her face.
"You wear the armor of the Earth, and what is the Earth if it has no life.  You can save your friends, but only once.  After that you will no longer have the power to do so."
"I... I can bring them back?" Sarah asked for once looking back at her fallen friends.
"If you truly want them back, you can." Celestial Tiger stated.  Sarah closed her eyes and thought of her friends.  Honor appeared on her forehead as her friends also started to glow.  Virtue, Wisdom, Justice, Life, and Trust appeared.  Their wounds healed, and the armors returned to their wearers.  A gold light appeared around the still forms of Yuli, Mia, and White Blaze as they started to breathe once again.  Deep in the Nether Realm, Piety, Loyalty, Obedience, and Serenity appeared on four bodies and their cold hearts started to beat.  Finally all the lights died down and Sarah collapsed to the ground.  She heard one last thing before she blacked out,
"I will always be here anytime you need me.  Just call my name." And all was quiet.

The sun shone through the window shining into the eyes of the sleeping figure in the bed.  Sarah slowly opened her eyes and looked at the ceiling.  She was back in her room, but she couldn't remember how she had gotten there.  She could hear some people outside, but found her self too sore to move.  She turned her head to the side and saw a figure curled up in a chair next to the bed.  The figure stirred for a bit and Sarah realized it was Cye.
"Cye..." She whispered almost afraid it would be a dream and he'd disappear.  Cye looked up from his makeshift bed and blinked, almost not believe what he saw.
"Sarah? Your awake?!" He exclaimed as he practically leapt from the chair to the bed, "How do you feel?"
"Okay, I guess.  Still a bit tired though." Sarah said as she held his hand making herself believe he was truly there.
"I was so worried about you.  But I never gave up, cause you never gave up on me." Cye smiled down at her, she started to smile back but memories came back, she had left him, given up on him.
"No...." She turned her head and looked out the window at the blue sky.
"You did, whether you believe it or not.  If you had given up on me, you wouldn't of come back." Cye said pulling her head back to look at him, "I would never mean to harm you.  I love you, you know that, right?"
"I love you too." Sarah whispered as Cye leaned down and kissed her.
"I'll bring you some supper later on,  just get some rest."  Sarah nodded and Cye left the room.  He headed outside to tell the others, but not before looking back up in her direction.
    "He came out!" Kento exclaimed.
"How is she?" Sage asked walking over to him.
"She woke up.  I told her I'd take her some supper later on.  She's just going to get some sleep right now." Cye answered looking up into the window.
"She'll be fine." Rowen smiled moving him farther into the yard, "But right now, we need another player, how about it?"  Cye looked one more time at the window and then joined his friends in their game.
