Chapter 6:

History Repeats

"Katelynn, it is time to go," the Ancient One said as he stood next to the young princess dressed in traveling clothes.  Katelynn finished her writing and stood up. "It is a very noble thing you are doing."
"I just wish to find Shin and bring him back. I am not marring this prince."  Katelynn said as she followed the Ancient One into the main building in the village.
"Your journal will be safe here until your return," the Ancient One said removing a piece of wood from a shelf in the back of the building, "Are you ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."  Katelynn said taking a deep breath.  The Ancient One raised the staff into the air and brought it down to the floor.  The rings started to spin wildly around and the ball on top started to glow.
"Once you arrive you will find help in your quest," the Ancient Once said as the light engulfed Katelynn.  Katelynn slowly awoke, her head spinning.  She brought her hands up to try and settle her head a bit.
'I must be in some kind of forest,' she thought to herself as she looked around.  Trees of enormous height and width surrounded her. "I wonder where I go from here?" She asked herself as she used one of the huge trees to stand up.  Just as she started to head off in one direction, a figure appeared in the corner of her eye.  She took a defensive stance and waited for it to move.  The figure moved into the light to reveal a magnificent white tiger.
~ Please do not be afraid ~ the tiger stated mentally.
"You talked, but your mouth did not move." Katelynn stated not sure what to do.
~ Yes, I speak telepathically with whom I choose to. You are a friend of the Ancient One, are you not? ~ The tiger asked cocking its head.
"Yes, I am. Are you the help he was talking about?"
~ Yes I am. You are looking for someone, yes? ~
"Yes, a friend by the name of Shin."
~ Ah, yes the wearer of Suiko.  He is in Talpa's stronghold, in the dungeons.  You will need help in getting to him. ~
    "Help? What kind."
~ Where are the other wearers? ~ The tiger asked looking around.
    "They're... dead"
~ Oh, that is bad.  We will not be able to save him without them. ~
"You mean I came here for nothing?" Katelynn asked falling to her knees.
~ I never said that. All that I meant is that we will have to get them back. ~
"And how do we do that?  They're dead, remember?"
~ Only their bodies are dead.  The spirit doesn't die for several years.  And to answer your question you will bring them back.  You will go on a journey.  On every step in this journey you will revive one of your friends. ~
"Where will this journey take me?"
~ You will go to all corners of the Earth.  You will see many sights and fight many battles. ~
    "Fight! With what?!"
~ With your armor of course ~ Stardust said walking up to the princess.
    "What armor?"
~ You did not know you had a mystical armor? ~
    "Was I supposed to?"
~I am surprised the Ancient One did not tell you.  You own the armor of the Earth.  It was created from bits of the other five elemental armors. ~
"How do I wear this armor?"
~ Well you will need the crystal orb first.  Do you have one? ~
"I have all the orbs.  The Ancient wouldn't let me leave without them."
~ You still have the orbs? ~ Stardust asked surprised
    "Yes, why?" Katelynn asked
~ If you still have the orbs then your friends are still alive! ~ Stardust exclaimed
"What?!  What do you mean?  I was told they all died in a battle."  Katelynn replied.
~ Katelynn If they had died the orbs and armors would of found new wearers and you wouldn't have them right now ~ Stardust explained, ~ Now we only have to awaken them from their placed of rest. May I see the orbs? ~ Katelynn took the small box from her pouch and opened it so Stardust could see. Inside lay six orbs.
"Where did that one come from?  I could of sworn there were only five in here," Katelynn exclaimed.
~ That is your armor. Wear it ~
    "But, how?"
~ You will know ~ Katelynn grasped the orb in her hand.  A brown light appeared on her forehead.  After a few seconds it formed the kanji of Honor.  The brown light soon surrounded her entire body and then faded away.  In its place was a brown-and-white sub armor.
"You know this isn't exactly princess like attire," Katelynn stated looking herself over.
~I figured you'd say that. ~ With that, Stardust brought out a small brown package from behind the tree.
    "What's in there?"
~ Open it and find out ~ Katelynn did as she was told and revealed a leather cloak. Katelynn putting it on she found it covered her completely when closed and hung down to just past her knees.
"This is great.  Thanks.  Oh, you said that my journey would cover all four corners of the Earth. If I was going to go on a journey on the Earth why did I have to come here?" Katelynn asked
~ The beginning and the end of your journey will be here in the Nether Realm. Are you ready to start? ~
    "I guess"
~ Then let us be on our way. ~ Stardust then led the way through the woods and the journey began.

Things in Japan stayed as they were.  Kento had finally had enough of it and was moving back home.  He could no longer live with them.  Mia didn't want to see him go, but understood how he felt.
"Mia! Mia!" Kento yelled running into the den.
"Kento! I thought you were leaving?" Mia asked looking up from behind the computer.
"I am or was. Mia, where's Cye?"
"He's with her.  I think.  Why?"
"I was packing my stuff when I noticed something. Look!" Kento then held out Cye's crystal orb in his hand.
"What?!  Cye would never leave it behind!"  Mia exclaimed standing up.
"Yea, I know.  I think our guess was right.  Catherine is from the Dynasty!"  Mia and Kento stared at each other for a second before Ryo, Sage, and Rowen came walking through the door.
"Hey, Mia. This is probably a stupid question, but umm... what's been going on the past two months?" Ryo asked as they walked farther into the room while Mia and Kento looked at them with confused looks.
"You mean you don't remember?" Kento asked his eyes wide when they shook their heads.  "Mia, tell them everything. I've got to make a phone call."
"All right.  Sit down.  It's a fairly complicated story."  Mia said sitting down as Kento ran from the room.
"Hello, operator.  I'd like to make an international call to America."

"Katie!  You have an international call on line 1!  It's a guy too!"  A voice boomed over the intercom.  Katie looked up to see Rhonda at the phone behind her.
"Why did you just do that?" Katie asked eyeing her supervisor.
"Cause it's an international call from a guy."  Rhonda replied slyly.  Katie shook her head and walked over to the phone.
"Hello, this is Katie" Katie stated into the phone.
"Katie!  It's me, Kento."  The voice on the other end replied.
"Kento?!" Katie asked not able to say anything else, before Kento continued.
    "Katie, Cye is gone!"
"I don't care where Cye went with her."  Katie replied sourly.
"No, Katie he's gone.  I'm mean totally.  Katie, he left his crystal behind."
"WHAT?!"  Katie yelled, and the entire workshop suddenly became quiet.  Katie looked up thoroughly embarrassed and smiled at everyone, "Are you positive?"  Katie asked in a whisper.
"I'm holding it right here in my hand.  When is the soonest you can make it back here?"
"Back to Japan?!  Kento, graduation is this Sunday.  There is no way I could leave before that and I don't know how soon of a plane I could catch then."  Katie replied, "That and I doubt it very much that I have enough money to get there."
"Don't worry about the money. I'm sure Mia will lend it to you."
"What about work? What am I going to tell them?"
"Katie I don't know.  We just need you back here.  Please.  Cye needs you back here."
"You just had to say that didn't you?"
    "Yep."
"I'll see what I can do.  You sure Mia won't mind?"
    "I'm positive."
"All right I'll check tonight when the next plane is and get back to ya, OK?"
"Ok, I'll be waiting on you. Bye"
"Bye." Katie then hung up the phone.

"Katie, is something wrong?"  Rhonda asked as Katie turned away from the phone.
"You could say that.  Rhonda, what would you say if I needed some time off?"  Katie asked.
    "How much?"
    "I don't know."
"Maybe I should be asking why?"
"I have a close friend that is in trouble.  Kento, the one on the phone, wants me to go back to Japan.  From what he says, I really need to go."  Katie said hoping Rhonda bought it; it was after all the truth, just not all of it.
"And where are you going to get the money?" Rhonda asked
"I have another friend that said she would help me buy a one way ticket and then another one when I could come back." Katie replied.
"Well, I don't see a problem with it.  But you better ask Karen just in case."  Rhonda replied nodding her head.  Katie went back to her boss' office to ask her, after some explaining, and some lying, she was able to get approval to leave again, and to get into contact with them as soon as she was back.

In a dark cell deep within the dynasty one prisoner was trying to free himself in anyway he could.
"You will find it useless to try and escape.  You were a fool to leave your crystal in the mortal realm.  Without is you cannot wear the Torrent armor."  The prisoner looked confusingly at the spirit priest before him, "Ah, that's right you call it by a different name.  Suiko, I believe." The prisoner looked at him in disgust.
"At least now you can't get it!" He yelled pulling at the chains again.
"That's what you think.  You see the only way to separate the armor from the wearer is to kill the wearer.  By leaving the crystal behind you have left yourself weak. You will now join the dynasty!!"
    "I'd never join you!"
"But, you see you don't have a choice." Badamon then lifted his hands to command the nether spirits.  Powerful energy surrounded Shin as he was turned.
    "AHHHHHHH!"

"Stardust where are we going?" Katelynn asked as they came upon a dry and desolate area.  They headed up over a rocky cliff and came upon a view of a gigantic golden castle.
"That is Talpa's castle." Stardust explained.
    "Talpa?" Katelynn asked.
"Yes he is Red Wing's master.  That is where Shin is.  And before you go and do something stupid, think.  Are you ready for that big of a fight?" Stardust asked looking at Katelynn as she nodded her head slowly.  Just as they turned to leave, a horrible scream was heard from the castle. "What was that?" Stardust questioned as she looked up at Katelynn.
"I understand, Stardust.  It's now more then just freeing him.  I feel something empty in me.  Now we have to get him back too." Katelynn stated as a single tear rolled down her cheek.  At first Stardust was puzzled and then understood.  Shin was now under the control of the dynasty.

"I thought you were working days now?" a voice asked walking up behind Katie.
"I'm working both for the rest of the week," Kate replied as she packed batteries.
"Why would you want to do that for?" Mike asked eyeing her.
"I need the money fast. I'm leaving for Japan next week."  Katie replied not paying him any attention.
"Hey, Yoshita!!! Weren't you just there?" Cory laughed walking up to her, Katie looking at him giving him a LOOK.
"I have a friend that's in tro... ub... le" Katie's eyes went wide and she dropped the batteries she was holding. She slowly sunk down to her knees, the look of shock still on her face.
"Katie? What's wrong?" Cory asked backing away a bit, swearing he didn't do anything.
"Hey Rhonda, I think something is wrong with Katie."  Mike yelled across the floor.  Rhonda ran over and kneeled down to Katie,
    "Katie, what's wrong?"
"Empty.  Something is missing."  Kate sobbed trying to figure out what was going on.
"Katie?" Rhonda looked at her in surprise, but then decided to drop it, "Shh... Everything's all right."  Rhonda sat there and comforted the sobbing figure, with the guys standing around and watching, totally amazed at her reaction.

"Lord Red Wing, I have a present for you," the warrior said as she kneeled in front of the throne.
"Ah, my warrior of Deception, or should I say, Catherine. What is it you have for me?" Red Wing asked eyeing his warrior. The warrior held out her hand and Cye appeared kneeling next to her wearing the Red Torrent armor, his eyes glowing the same color.
"There are enough nether spirits in him that the only way to get rid of them is to kill him." The warrior stated.
"Good. Please proceed to the next part of the plan." Red Wind instructed laughing evilly.
"Yes, Lord Red Wing." The warrior said as she and Cye vanished.
