Chapter 18:
The Final Encounter
The nine warriors walked down the street. It had been two days since their last chance at rest. During that time, they buried *Jun* under a one of the only cherry trees that was still alive, and Kayura and the kids returned to the house figuring it would be safer. They had fought several armys of soldiers making their way to the Masters chambers. They were all tired, the scares from previous battles showed, not only physical, but mentaly as well.
"We have to stop." Matt stated as he helped Katie to the ground. "What? your giving up?" Shu asked in surprise. "I think he means to rest, Shu" Touma said with an edge to his voice. "We can't stop." Naza insisted. "We have to. There is no way Katie could survive another battle." Matt argured. "If she was a true warrior she could." Naza countered. "She has shown more bravery then anything you've ever showen." Shin yelled. "Hump, She has only showed that she is a weak girl." Naza shouted. "Naza, look. I've put up with you only because I had to." Shu yelled in his face, "I never did trust you and this just goes to justify my thoughts." "I agree with Matt, Naza, she needs to rest. We need that new yoroi to defete the master." Anubus said putting a hand on Naza's shoulder. "Anubus is right. I think the same as you. but because she bears that yoroi we need her." Rajura added. "What! She risked her life to save you three from the doungens, and you have nothing to say for that?" Seiji asked. "I almost wish she would of died, then maybe the yoroi would of gone to a better fighter." Naza replied. "Katie is a great fighter." Touma said finally getting into the conversation. "Yea right. Look at her. She can't even walk let alone stand by herself. She's weak." Rajura spat. "Why I otta..." Shu started.
"SHUT UP!!!"
Everyone turned to where Katie sat on the ground, tears streaming down her face. "I never asked to have this yoroi. Ever since I've had it I've known nothing but pain." Katie said as she slowly stood up. Matt started to help her but she refuses. "I would of been just happy if none of this had ever happened." "But, Katie..." Matt started "I don't care anymore. The Master has already won.....now, just leave me alone." Katie then took off down the street. "Katie! Wait!" Matt yelled as he tried to follow her. "Now look what you did!" Shu yelled at Naza. "Guys, this is no time to fight. We have to find them." Ryo replied as he started after Matt with the rest following.
Katie ran down the street and turned into an alley. She stood there untill she saw her brother and then the others pass. Sitting on the ground she started to cry again, not able to hold it back anylonger.
Katie....
The voice echoed.
Katie....
"What? Who's there." Katie said looking up. She was nolonger in the dark alley, but in a bright field that was full of cherry blossems. "Where am I?" Katie asked again.
Your safe
Who are you?
friends
What do you want?
to help
Is this somekind of trick?
In front of Katie appeared a very pretty woman. Her face seemed familar, especaly with the red-brown hair that framed her sea-green eyes.
You...you look like Shin!
I should. I'm his mother.
But how? Your dead
You are a smart one, arn't you.
But, I thought that you didn't remember Shin after their defete?
Your right, we didn't remember them. But, once we died we found out the truth.
Why do you keep saying we?
Because I speak for all of us.
Then behind Shin's mother appeared several other people. A man with the same sea-green eyes walked up besided her.
Shin's father?
Yes. And all the other Troopers and Masho's parents.
But why are you here?
You are in trouble. You nolonger trust your yoroi or the others.
How can I? This yoroi is a curse. The others think I'm weak and can't fight.
The Troopers beleive in you. Even the Masho do. They just don't know how to show it.
What do you mean?
The masho have been surrounded by evil for a long time and because of that they nolonger know how to convey their feelings. The Troopers arn't used to having a girl on the same level as them. Even when Kayura fought them she was a more superior fighter then they were.
How am I supposed to convince them that I can fight just as good as they do.
You have already shown that.
When
When you fought them in the arena, used that new power, and then with the new yoroi.
Then what am I supposed to do?
Katie, what happened to you back there is not your's or their fault.
What?!
Everybody is tired, and worn down. They were not thinking with a clear mind. I'm sure if you go back to them they will think differently.
Right. Naza will probably chew me out for running off.
Yes, he probably will. But, that is how he acts. He feels the same as the others, only that is his way of showing it.
I just don't know if I can keep doing this. I'm so tired of it all. The others all have reasons for doing this. I don't
What kind of reasons.
I guess revenge is one of them, for taking you away from them. I know Matt wishes that mom and dad were still here.
They are.
No, they're not. They're dead.
So are we
Then were are they
We're right here.
M..m..mom, Dad?
Yes we're here. What is wrong, Katie
I'm sick of all the fighting.
You and your brother are strong. You will make it through. We are and will always be next to you.
I just wish it was all over.
Katie, we are all behind you and the others. Be brave.
But, how much longer do we have to keep fighting against the Master?
I shouldn't be telling you this, but your next battle will be with him.
Katie, during this battle if you start thinking that you can't do it, I want you to do me a favor.
What?
Remember us. We will be there for you.
Mom, Dad...
All the figures, the trees and the field disapeared and Katie was back in the alley again.
"I promise. I won't forget."
"Where is she. She couldn't of just disapeared." Shu said looking around. "Why did you three say those things in the first place?" Ryo asked the three masho. "I guess we weren't using our heads." Naza reaplied. "We know she is a good fighter." Anubus agreed. "It's just after being around evil all our lives, it's hard for us to see the truth." Rajura confesed. The Troopers just stood their with their mouths open. "The masho are admitting they were wrong?" Shu said in surprise. "I wish I had a tape recorder or something to get this down." Shin agreed. "Ha, very funny. Let's keep looking." Rajura said as he started to walk on. "I'm sorry." The nine warriors truned around to find Katie standing behind them. "It's as much my fult as it is yours." Katie stated, "I should of never ran." "Katie, it's all right. At least your safe." Matt said hugging her. "Well, then. Maybe we should rest."Naza said looking at Katie. "If your saying that just for me. It's all right. I'm fine."Katie replied looking back at Naza. "Katie. you really should rest..." Matt started. "Matt, I'm fine. didn't you realize where we are?" Katie asked. Matt and the others looked around. "We're in the middle of Shinjuku, so?" Seiji replied. "Yea, the middle of the city." Katie hinted. All she got were questioned lookes. "We're near the masters chambers." Matt finaly said. "Well, how do we get in?" Touma asked. "The only way is to teleport there." Katie answered. "But, how can we teleport if we don't know where we're going." Ryo asked. "We'll help. The Masho know, right?" Katie stated. The Masho nodded. "Then with their help we'll teleport you guys in." Matt replied. The Troopers looked at eachother and shuged. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to try." Touma said. Each one of the masho stood next to one of the Troopers. In a flash of light they were gone.
The ten warriors appeared in a dark room. "Where are we?" Seiji asked. "We're in the masters chambers." Matt replied. "Why is it so dark?" Ryo asked trying to find someone else in the dark. "It's always dark in here when the Master's here." Katie said. "Well, I'll lighten things up a bit." Seiji said as he held up his no-datchi. A bright light emitted off the sword and lightened the area around them. "Well I see you acually made it here." The dark voice boomed. "Come out and fight." Shu yelled shaking his fist. "I will, in time." The voice boomed again, "I wish to show you something, Katie." A candle lit up in front of the group. Next to it hung Kenji. "Kenji!? But, I thought." Katie started. "You thought wrong. This was not one of Kayura's illusions." The master replied. "Rajura, please tell me that's an illusion." Katie pleaded. "No, Katie, it isn't." Rajura replied. "Katie, who is he?" Matt asked worried. Katie just ignored him,"Why did you bring him into it?" "This poor boy wandered into the city one day. He was going to be killed like everyone else, but I desided to use him." The Master replied. "Katie, I'm sorry. I had no choice. I really didn't want to hurt you." Kenji said in a weak voice. "Kenji, don't worry we'll free you." Katie yelled. "Who is this guy, and what's going on?" Anubus asked. "That's right. Matt and the Masho don't know about him." Touma remembered. "Look, we'll tell you when we get home." Ryo said and then turned his attention back to the front. "Ah, but you won't have time." The master then shoot several jolts of power at Kenji. Kenji screemed from the pain, "Katie, I...." "Kenji! Just hold on." Katie yelled. She tried to get to him, but the power around him would not allow her to pass. "Katie, please don't....I just want to tell you..that...I......love...........you." Kenji then went limp, and the master stoped the power. "Kenjiiiiii, NOOOOO" Katie yelled as she buried her face in Matt's shoulder. The body droped to the ground. "You see, it wasn't an illusion." The master said as he laughed. "You'll pay for that
GanTessai
The attack went right through the shadow with out a scratch. "What!? It didn't touch him." Shu said in surprise. "You can't fight him like that Shu" Matt informed," The master isn't anykind of solid form of mass you can dystroy. He's a more like a spirit. He exsists with in the shadows of the room." "Then how are we do defete him?" Ryo asked just as confused. "With our hearts." Katie stated as she lifted her head from Matt's shoulder. "What do you mean?" Touma asked. "I found out that if we don't fight with our hearts, then we really arn't fighting. Look inside, look for the spirits that protect you. Look for you parents and friends. They're around us now. helping." Eveybody closed their eyes and looked inside. "What a lovely moment. Too bad it won't last." the Master yelled as he shot a blast of power at the group. The blast disapated just in front of them as if there was a barrier protecting them. "We will fight with our hearts." Ryo stated as he started to glow.
"JIN"
One by one the others started to glow also.
"REI"
"SHIN"
"GI"
"CHI"
"KOU"
"TEI"
"NIN"
"CHU"
"YO"
The five elemental yoroi joined with Ryo's and formed the white kikotei. The four sesional yoroi joined with Katie's and formed the silver kikotei. Together, without saying one word, they let loos their power of fire and life. The blast hit the shadow and all that could be heard was the scream of the master.
"Kayura, get out here." Seth yelled into the house. "What is it?" Kayura asked as she, Erika, and Makoto came out of the house. Seth pointed to the sky towards the city. "What do you think it is?" Mike asked. "The power of the two kikoteis." Kayura said as she looked at the sky. The bright flash of light spread over the city and past that. "Kayura, what's going on?" Jun asked as everything around them was engulfed by the bright light.
