Chapter 12:
Unexpected Revelations
"I can't stand it!!" Katie yelled in frustration, "How can you still be sane after staying in here for a hundred years, and I've only been in here for a week and I'm going crazy?" "Katie, you must settle down. There is nothing you can do to make the situation any better." Kayrua tried to reasure her, but failed miserably. "I just can't stand being traped down here in this cage." Katie yelled again, though not as loud. "Katie, our first week was the same. We thought we would go crazy too." Anubus said putting a hand on Katie's shoulder. "Really? What did you do to keep from it?" Katie asked back. "We forced ourselves not to." Rajura answered, "We knew that was what the Master would want. Then he could easly turn us all back to the side of evil." "Yea I guess your right. I just wish I knew what was going on at home. I hope the kids are all right." Katie said sitting on the floor. "I'm sure they are." Naza replied, "The Troopers would surely keep an eye on them. They know what they mean to you." Then a soldier came in to the room. "You are to come with me." He said pointing at Katie. Katie stood up and moved to the door. Everybody was thinking the same thing, 'Have they found out that the Chikyuu yoroi can control the others?'. The door to the cell opened and Katie stepped out and it closed behind her. She followed him in to the shadows. "I wonder where they are taking her?" Anubus questioned. "I don't know, let's just hope that she doesn't learn the truth." Kayura replied.
Katie followed the soldier in to the shadow trying to find the doorway, but there wasn't one. The darkness surrounded her and she couldn't see where she had come from or where she was going. Finally after a while Katie caught sight of seven candles glowing in the distance. As she got closer she realized that the candles themselves where making light, but the light was only lighting up what ever was next to it and nothing else. The soldier led her to one of the candles, stopped and then dissapeared. Katie looked to four of the candles that lined one of the walls. In the small light that they gave off, Katie could see the crystal orbs of the seasional yoroi. In front of her was another candle and next to it lay her orb. One other candle was in the room but noone or thing was near it. After a few minuets of silence a loud voice boomed out from the shadow in front of Katie scaring her. "Katie, you must learn the truth." the Master anounced. "The truth? The only truth I know is that you brainwashed Matt into thinking that he was this Odorokasu, taking him away from me." Katie responed. "No, You are the one that was 'brainwashed'. Kayura make up those memories of you with a normal family and a normal life, trying to make you beleive that the this world was good. Listen to me and know that I speak the truth." the Master spoke softly and in a sorta kind tone, almost mesmerising Katie. "I wont fall for you tricks." Katie yelled snapping back into reality. "Fine I will let someone else tell you. Odorokasu come." "Yes master" Odorokasu said as he appeared next to the once empty candle in the room. "She doesn't seem to beleive me. Why don't you try your hand at it." the Master instructed. "As you wish Master." Odorokasu replied, "Katie, what you remember is not the truth. Those humans, if you want to call them that, are greedy and think of nothing but themselfs. We learned that." Odorokasu then removed his helmet alowing his brown hair and eyes to be seen. He looked exactly like Katie, if it wasn't for the age difference, they could be twins. Katie looked him in the eyes. What she saw was the Matt she remembered. This was the real him. Katie started to remember the truth:
When Katie was 4 and Matt was 8, their parents died in a car wreck. They somehow survived. They were always being seperated. Katie remembered how they would run away from any home they were put into so they could be together. No matter how much they tried to stay together the more the adults wanted to seperate them. They ran, slept when they could and ate anything they could find. It seemed everyone was against them. Finally one day they came upon the City. "Matt, I'm sure they won't follow us in there!" Katie exclaimed. "But, Katie, people have dissapeared in there." Matt replied. "So, if this is the only way we can be together, then I would rather die." "Me too." Matt agreed. They walked into the city. Akutoo met them about a mile in. "What do you want?" Matt asked as he stood in front of Katie. "Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you. In fact I want to help you." Akutoo comforted them. Matt let his guard down and listed to Akutoo. "You hate the world that exsits outside of this city, is that right?" Katie and Matt nodded their heads. "Then we have something in common. In here we care about each other. No one will try to seperate you. And if they do, the entire city will stop them. It's as simple as that. If you want you can live here and join in our cause. Try to make that world out there into this world in here." Katie and Matt were sceptical at first but then desided to take him up on the offer. At this time they were 5 and 9 respectivly. For the next ten years they lived in the City. Katie then remembered a time when she had just turned 14. "Katie, I have the greatest news." Matt exclaimed as he entered their room. "What is it?" "The Master is going to make me one of his main warriors." "That's great. I told you all that practicing was going to pay off. Do you know what your name is going to be?" "No, not yet. I'll find out tomarrow at the formal thing." Katie remembered the next day well. She was standing in the Masters main chambers witnesing her brother becoming an evil warrior. "You are no longer known as Matt. You will only be called Odorokasu." The Master anounced as a dark armor encased Matt as he became Odorokasu. Katie remembered how proud she was of him, this was something he had been working for ever since they had arrived in the City. Katie then remebered the memories she had once had that were now only lies, trying to cover up the truth about the world. She was mad at Kayura for doing this to her.
Katie's memories had all come back. she knelt down in front of the Master. "Welcome home, Katie." The Master said as a smile appeared and Odorokasu's face.
At the exact same time at the house. "I'm sick of sitting around here doing nothing!" Shu was up and walking around the room trying to burn off some of his frustration. "Well, ranting around like that won't solve anything either" Touma said from the couch with a book in front of his face. "Your all acting like nothing is wrong. What's with you?" Shu questioned. True it had been a week since they had been in the City and they had done nothing in preperation of trying to win this war. "Shu, their isn't anything we can do. We lost before what makes you think that we could acually win?" Seiji said as he entered the room with Ryo behind him. "I can't beleive this. This can't be real...."
Shu bolted upright in his bed. 'It was just a dream. But why would I even dream something like that?' This question bothered him. he sliped out of bed and noticed that Shin was not in his bed. He headed down to the kitchen to grab a mid-night or early morning snack. He was surprised to find Ryo, Seiji, Shin, and even Touma already there. "Did you have a dream too?" Touma asked. "Yea, you too?" the four shook their heads. "What do you think it means?" Shin asked sipping at a glass of milk. "Maybe we need to get our butts in gear and back in the City." Shu suggested looking through the frig. "I don't think it would be that easy to figure a dream out Shu. For some reason I feel like it has a deeper meaning. Like something to do with the link we have through the yoroi." Seiji said leaning on the counter. "The yoroi. Maybe something has happened to Katie. Maybe they have control of the Chikyuu yoroi." Ryo suggested."Let's hope that isn't the case. Let's try to get some sleep while we can." Touma suggested. The five Troopers returned to their rooms though none of them acually getting any sleep, but laying thinking of what is happening in the City right now.
Everybody was up early the next morning, even Touma. They were all out sparring with each other while the kids sat by the house watching. The Troopers were planning to go back into the City, but not before they felt strong enough physily and mentaly. As they sparred all they could think about is what would happen if the Chikyuu yoroi would fall into wrong hands and if Katie was all right. Their answer would come sooner then they would of wanted.
The sky suddenly grew a sickly black and lightning arced across it as if it were in a race. The Troopers stopped thier sparring and the kids ran inside expecting a battle soon. In the distance two figures appeared on horseback. The first one being one that they reconigsed as Odorokasu, the other they could not see. Odorokasu rode up in front of the Troopers, but he did not appear to be getting ready for a fight. "What do you want?" Ryo shouted above the loud thunder that rang above. "I do not want anything. I just came to watch." He replied as a grin creased his face. "Watch what?" Shu countered readying to transform. "Why, watch you get defeted and captured." he replied amused by this question, answer period they seemed to be having. "If your just watching, who are we going to defete?" Touma asked changing the being defeted to going to defete. "By me, of course." came the reply from behind Odorokasu. The second warrior finally desided to enter the dissusion. "Who are you?" Seiji asked the warrior. "You know me Seiji. You havn't forgotten already have you?" The warrior said sounding hurt. The Troopers' eyes were wide as they relized that the voice was of a girl, and not just any girl. As if on cue the lightning flashed across the sky, showing to all that could see, that the new warrior was indeed Katie. "Katie!? What's going on?" Shin asked with worry on his face. "Oh, Shin, it is too long of a story now. Maybe someother day when your in the dungen I'll come and tell you." Katie said as she dismounted giving the reins to her brother, "Come on, put your armors on and fight." "We won't fight you. Katie, their tricking you. Can't you see that?" Shu tried to convince her. "You mean the great Kongo no Shu won't fight? That is a surprise. I was hoping that you would fight on your own, but it seems you need a little more encoragment." Katie said as she walked torwards them. "What are you going to do?" Ryo asked as she stopped about five feet away. "I want you to transform. You don't want to. So, it looks like I'm going to have to make you." She responded. "And how do you plan to do that" Touma asked not really believing her. "Like this" A sudden gust of wind blew past them as she called the yoroi's to their wearers:
"Busooo, Rekka; Korin; Kongo; Suiko; Tenku"
Comments of surprise and shock came from the Troopers as they were forced to wear their yorois. "How did you do that?" a shocked Ryo asked when the transformation was compleat. "My you sure have short memories. This yoroi can control yours. And in turn I can control you." Katie gave an evil laugh as she unshethed her katanas. She snapped the hilts together and started spinning them. Rekka started to glow red as his energy was being taken away from him. At the same time flames appeared on the spinning katanas. Ryo was weak and Katie knew what she was doing.
"Sou En Zan"
The flames from the spinning katanas made it's way torward the wearer of Rekka making a direct hit. Ryo was thrown back several feet and gave a pleading look torward Katie and then went uncountious. "So, who's gonna be next." Katie laughed as she took out all the Troopers using thier own energy to do it. "This was too easy." She commented as her and Odorokasu gathered the bodies of the uncontious Troopers into a pile. "You had the advantage. With your yoroi their was no way they would win." Odorokasu commented. Just as they were about to leave the kids came outside and faced Katie. Bayakuen was in front to protect them. "Katie? Why?" Jun asked a confused expression on his face. Katie had forgotten about them. She looked at them with a surprised look on her face. She took off her helmet and approched them, but Bauakuen wouldn't let her too close. "Jun, this is the true me. Kayura had taken my true memories away from me. She had taken my life from me not the Master." Katie tried to explain. "But, Katie, what about us." Erika asked. "Katie, we have to go. Just kill them and come on." Odorokasu said behind her, already having teleported the Troopers to the dungen. "Erika is the oldest. You will all obey her now. I am no longer your gardian. Bayakuen, I know you will protect them. I promise nothing will ever happen to you. You will be safe here." Katie then turned and walked back to Odorokasu and monted her horse. "Why are you just leaving them?" He asked. "Brother, they are no different then you and me. They want to be together, and they will stay together." Katie replied looking back at the kids for the last time as they both dissapeared.
Down in the dungen Kayura and the formor Masho where tending to the Troopers wounds. "Kayura, Rekka is waking up" Anubus informed. Ryo was indeed waking up. "What Happened? Where am I?" He asked trying to focas on the two figures above him, "Kayura, Anubus?" "Shhhh. Lay still, you are hurt badly. You need to rest." Kayura said as she pushed him back down. "Kayura the others are awakening as well" Rajura anounced. After a few minuets of trying to get Shu to sit down and to rest Kayura told them the bad news. "All the fighting and this is it." Shin said from the corner of the room. He was haveing the hardest time beleiving that Katie was now on the other side. "Shin, It can't be over, not yet." Shu tried to reasure his best friend. "Shu, He has all nine yorois plus Katie's. What are we going to do? Throw stones at them and expect to win?" "Sure, why not. Here, you can start with this." Shu said handing Shin a small rock. "Shu, figure it out. We lost." Shin said as he threw the stone across the cell. Shu knew it, they all knew it. Their was nothing any of them could do nomatter how much they tried. It was truly over.
In their private chamber, once known as the Tokyo Tower, Odorokasu and Katie were celebrating their victory. "I am so happy to have you back." Katie said giving Odorokasu a hug. "Me too. And now we can serve the Master together. Side by side." "Always and forever we will never be seperated again." Katie cast her eyes down at the ground. "Katie, what's the matter?" "It's just. Some of those memories were true. Like the kids. I just hope they don't get hurt." "Katie, don't worry about them. The Master said that no harm would come of them because of your promise you made to them. He understands that. You don't have to worry." "Your, right. As always." Katie said cheering up. "Come on it's late. Let's go to bed." Katie agreed and they went into their own rooms and went to bed. Katie dremt the entire night about the kids and all the time she spent with them. She missed them, but she knew their was nothing she could do about it now. They had won, and life would go on as before.
