Just a small note:
When something is
inbetween two ~'s that
is a memory that Katie is
thinking about as she is
writing. ^,^
Finally, A Normal Life
The sun was just about to set behind the mountains. The kids could still
be heard playing in the yard. Katie was sitting on the balconey with a
small book in her lap. She opened the book and started to write.
It has been two months since the end of 'The City'. We have all been able to find a life in this new world. We all still live in the house, though it is a bit crowded. The house only has four bedrooms. I share a room with my brother and Ryo.
~Everybody had just come back from the lake and Katie was in her room changing out of her bathingsuit. Suddenly the door swung open and Ryo came into the room. Katie looked at him in shock and he returned the surprise. "RYOOOOO! GET OUT!!!!" Katie yelled. Ryo ducked out of the room bearly missing the book that was thrown at him.~
Seiji, Touma, and Seth share a room; Shin, Shu, Jun, and Mike share another. The last and smallest room is occupied by Erika, Makoto, and Ami. Every morning is complete havoc. Shin, Erika, Makoto, and I are always the first ones up. Shin and Erika take turns cooking while Makoto helps. I just sit back and enjoy the silence before the storm. The house only has two bathrooms, and Seiji seem to take up one on his own.
~"Seiji, how long do you need in there anyways?" Katie asked through the door of the bathroom. "I need to fix my hair" Seiji replied. "Seiji, it doesn't take an hour to fix your hair." Katie replied. "I took a shower too." "You've been in there for an hour and a half and the shower was only on for a half an hour." Katie yelled."Tell them to use the other bathroom." "They are, but it's impossible for ten people to use one bathroom. It's hard enough with only two in the house."~
Touma has to be the hardest person to wake up in the morning.
~"Katie! Touma still isn't up!" Seth yelled from the second floor. "Somebody'll be up in a second!" Katie yelled back, "Ok, who's turn?" "Katie, you do it the best." Shin replied, Erika and Makoto agreeing. "All right. where's the bucket." A minuet later Katie was lugging a full bucket up the stairs. She walked into the room. Touma was still cuddled up in the covers. "Touma, you better get up now." Katie said calmly. "No, it's too early." Touma replied under the covers. "I'm warning you." Katie replied with a smile on her face. Everybody was at the door to see the show. The lump under the covers moved a little and stoped. "I warned you, Touma!" Katie said as she dumped the bucked full of ice water on the sleeping figure. "AHHHHHHHH" Touma screamed as he jumped out of the bed. He gave Katie a surprised look. "I warned you. We don't have time. If you don't hurry you'll all be late." Katie said as she made her way through the crowd. "And who's going to clean this up? Katie!" Touma yelled after her. "It's not my fault you wet your bed" Katie replied as she headed back down the stairs.~
Shu always try's to eat everything before anyone else can get a chance.
~"Shu! get away!" Shin yelled smacking Shu's hand with a wooden spoon. "But, it smells so good!" Shu complained. "Shu, we all have to wait. That includes you!" Erika said from the other side of the kitchen. "Ahhww, come on. Just a little taste." Shu begged. "I said no! Matt, get Shu out of here" Shin begged to Matt who had just entered the kitchen. "Shu! do you want any brekfest at all?" Matt asked tapping his foot. Shu knew better then to tease Matt. He was taller and stonger then Shu could ever wish to be. Shu sulked out of the kitchen but not before grabing a cinnimon bun and stuffing it in his mouth.~
Once everybody had eaten we all leave the house to Byakuen and pile into the two vans Matt managed to buy. They would get us to Tokyo, but once inside the city we walked. Matt did get that job and makes good money. Shin, Shu, Ryo, Touma, and Seiji go to school. They ended up having to take their second year over. Ami, Jun, Makoto, Mike, and Seth go to elementary school while Erika is in her first year of jr. high. I spend the day in the library. Talk about boring. I can't stand studing all day, but Matt won't let me stay home. At around four o'clock I meet the guys outside of their school and we walk to the elementary to pick up the others. By the time we get to the vans Matt is there waiting. Once we're back home Shin, Erika, and Makoto start supper. Shu takes Jun and Ami out to play with Byakuen. Seiji has agreed to teach Mike and Seth how to fight so they go into the woods and practice. Ryo and Touma play a game of shougi(Japanese chess), Touma always wins. I sit with Matt and we talk about what I studied. I think he really wants me to get into a good collage. Once supper is ready it's a grab what you can before Shu eats it all. After everybody helps to clean the table we go our sepreate ways. The guys and the kids go to do their homework, Matt goes up to the den to do his own work and I go the living room and watch TV. By nine Shin, the kids, and I are getting ready for bed. By eleven the others are joining us.
Oh, did I mention that Ami is starting to talk again. It's great. The other day when we met everybody at the elementry school, Ami came running out and hugged me. As she was hugging me she whispered 'I love you' into my ear. I was about to cry. I had never heard anything from her untill that moment. Now she won't stop talking. She'd stay up all night and talk if I let her.
I know this sounds weird, but I miss the excitement. This peacefull life is boring. I wish something would happen. Don't get me wrong, I don't want anything like 'The City' again, but just a little fighting would do. Every weekend we all go to the lake and practice, just in case. I know the others don't feel that way, espesally Shin, but after awhile a normal life get's boring.
"Hey, Katie, time for supper!" Matt said comming out onto the balconey, "What are you doing?" "Oh, just starting a diary and watching the sun set." Katie replied. "It is pretty isn't it." Matt said as he leaned against the wall watching it with her. "Hey, you guys comming?" Seiji asked comming through the door. He looked at the sunset and leaned on the railing and started to watch it. After a few minuets everybody was on the balconey watching the finishing rays of light drift into the mountains. Katie streached and stood up. She looked at all her friends standing on the balconey. A frown grew on her face as she looked around. "What's the matter, Katie?" Shin asked looking at her. "Matt, didn't you say supper was ready?" Katie asked. "Yea, why?" Matt replied a confused look on his face. "Then where's Shu?" Katie asked. Everybody looked around and then ran to the inside balconey. All the food had been eaten or picked at. Shu was in a chair moaning. "Shu, you ate all the food." Shin yelled comming down the stairs. "Yea and it was good." Shu said belching. Everybody else had made it downstairs. "Now what are we going to eat?" Ami asked looking up to Shin. "Well, I guess we'll just have to order out." Matt said walking to the phone. "All right more food!" Shu said as he tried to get up but failed, "Man, I think I ate too much. Oh, I don't feel so good." "Serves you right. You know you shouldn't eat that much." Katie said scolding him, " Seiji, Ryo, Touma see if you can get this thing upstairs so we don't have to hear his complaining." Katie asked looking to the three. It took all three of them to make it to the top of the stairs and then they dragged him the rest of the way. Everybody else helped clean off the table. Twenty minuets later the pizza arrived. Matt set the four pizzas in the center of the table and everybody dug in. 'Maybe this isn't such a normal life after all.' Katie thought as she grabed two peices from the box.
Well, what do you think? Oh, thanxs Wildstar. She's the one that acually came up with the idea. Though she was just wondering what it would be like to have that many in one house, so here's your answer.
