Chapter 3

"Excuse me, Sir." An officer said stepping in front of what appeared to be a Samurai, "I'm
afraid it is against the law to carry swords." The samurai ignored him keeping his face to
the ground. "Sir!" The officer spoke louder trying to get some reaction from the
mysterious man. The Samurai kept ignoring him and walked around the officer.  The
officer looked after him in shock, and then preceded after him.  He grabbed the samurai by
the arm and jerked him back. "Now listen. You cannot ignore me. You are forbidded to
carry swords!" The officer practically yelled. Not far from this was a group of  four.

"I wonder what's going on over there." Kaoru commented gesturing over to where
a police officer was holding a samurai's arm.
"That samurai is carrying two swords" Kenshin pointed out.
"Why would a samurai have two swords?" Sanosuke asked.
"Why is he just ignoring him. That'll really get him in trouble." Yahiko said matter
a factly.  They stood and watched as the Samurai tried to just walk away again with no
avail.  Kenshin walked up to the struggling samurai.
"You know, if you just give your swords up, you can go free." Kenshin said
casually.
"I am not giving up my swords!" The samurai yelled, "You still have yours. Why
do you not have to give it up!?"
"I have a sakaba sword." Kenshin said pushing it out a bit to show.
"Why do you carry such a sword?" the samurai asked pulling his arm free from the
officer.
"Because I use it to protect. Not to kill." Kenshin stated, "Now it is my turn. Why
do you have two swords?"  The samurai looked at Kenshin, anger flared in his eyes.
Kenshin suddenly became very still.
"Who are you?" He asked in a calm voice.
"That is none of your business." The samurai yelled
"If you were a true samurai you would of been proper in telling your name." Kenshin said now on his guard.
"I never said I was a true samurai. I was never raised by the bushido.  But I try to
trust in it and follow the rules that I do know." The samurai stated.
"Then where did you get those swords? They are very rare." Kenshin said.
"I told you before. I don't have to answer to anything!" The samurai yelled and
then took off running through the crowd, the officer hot on his heels.
"What was that about, Kenshin?" Yahiko asked as they joined Kenshin.
"Why don't we get something to eat, Ne?!" Kenshin said smiling. The group then
entered the restaurant.
"Kenshin, what is bothering you?" Kaoru asked as she ate some of her supper.
"Oro? Nothing " Kenshin said waving his chopsticks in the air.
"Kenshin, that was no ordinary samurai." Sanosuke asked eating some rice.
"No she wasn't." Kenshin stated. The other three at the table jumped up in shock.
     "SHE?!" They all yelled together.
"Your not eating?" Kenshin asked looking innocent.
"Kenshin, why do you call him a she?" Yahiko asked sitting back down.
"Because he is a she." Kenshin said flatly, "Here is not the time to talk about it."
Kaoru was about to protest but Kenshin silenced her and they finished their mean. Later
that night Kenshin told them what he had relaxed.
"The samurai was very unusual, not only was it a girl, she carried a pair of twin
katana's." Kenshin explained.
"Twin Katana's?!" Kaoru gasped, "Only very skilled Samurai can fight with twin
Katana's."
"Yes, yet she had no dojo." Kenshin said.
"How could you tell?" Yahiko asked.
"Because she said so herself." Kenshin explained.
"But then how did she get the skill to wield twin katana's?" Kaoru asked.
"Maybe they were just for show. maybe she doesn't know how to?" Sano
suggested.
"No, she does know how to use them." Kenshin stated sipping his tea, "Her battle
aura is very strong, and determined." Kenshin then turned to the door, "Someone's here."
He then stood up and headed out of the house with the other's following. The door
opened to find the chief of police standing there.
"May I come in?" He asked taking his hat off his head.

"Do you remember that Samurai that carried the two katana's and escaped one of
the officers?" the chief asked sipping a cup of tea that was offered to him.
"Yes, I remember" Sano said leaning back against one of the walls.
"Well, it seems he has attacked several people. Saying something about a hidden
weapon." The chief explained, "Kenshin, he is very quick. Once he has struck he is unable
to be caught. We cannot let him run amuck. Will you aid us in stopping him?" Kenshin sat
in the doorway thinking about the circumstance.
"I will see what I can do." He answered as he stood and left the room.  Farewells
were said to the chief as he left the house and then they all turned in for the night.

Tsuyu, the Troopers, and the Masho snuck around the casle in search of their armor orbs.  Rajura had put an illusion around each of them so they could not be found.
"We're not getting anywhere this way." Nazza spat as another group of soldiers past them.
"What do you suggest? Only Tsuyu knows her way around the castle." Matt stated.
"So? Why don't we split up? We can cover more ground that way and get out of here faster." Anubis suggested.
"Rajura, can you keep the illusions up on those that would not be with you?" Matt asked turning to the white haird warrior.
    "That I can." Rajura afirmed.
"Okay, then we'll split up.... into two's or five's?" Matt asked
"I say two's they would be able to get around faster then a larger group would." Tsuyu sated.
"Okay, Rajura and Touma, Nazza and Ryo, Anubis and Seiji, Shin and Tsuyu, and I'll go with Shu." Matt stated, "Let's go." The five groups went off into seperate directions.

"Kenshin, aren't you going to do anything?" Kaoru asked as she stood just inside
the dojo waiting for Yahiko to get dressed.
"I'm doing the laundry." Kenshin stated as he hung up an article to dry.
"I mean about that girl!" Kaoru said getting impatient.  Kenshin didn't say a word.
Kaoru looked up and in the gate stood the girl. Her hair was pulled back into a pony tail,
here eyes were dull and lifeless.  They stood and stared at each other until Yahiko
appeared.
"Okay, I'm ready..." He trailed off when he saw the girl in at the gate.  The girl
broke off and looked to the ground.
"Do you have the weapon?" She asked as her voice dry and cracked.
"I'm afraid we don't know what your talking about." Kaoru stated.
"Tell us what this weapon is and we'll help you." Kenshin said walking toward her.
"Stay Back!!" The girl yelled unsheathing one of her katana's. Kenshin stopped, his
hand automatically went to his sakaba.
"Listen, we aren't going to hurt you." Kaoru said stepping down from the entrance.
"Kaoru-dono, she can't hear you." Kenshin stated.
"What are you talking about?" Kaoru asked.
"Her mind is numb to the world around her. She knows not that we want to help.
All she knows is that for some reason, for which only she knows, she must get this
weapon that she is asking for." Kenshin explained.
"What do we do?" Yahiko asked.
"If we can't get to her there's nothing we can do." Kenshin said grasping the hilt of
his sakaba. The girl saw this and took it wrong, she automatically attacked. Kenshin drew
his sword and blocked her attack. Kenshin threw her back and the second she touched the
ground she was attacking yet again. Kenshin didn't know what to do. Kaoru and Yahiko
stood and watched in shock as the two fought. Sano dashed through the gate, he ran up to
Kaoru and Yahiko.
     "What's going on?" he asked
"She attacked him." Kaoru replied still a bit shocked. Sano turned to the battle and
watched.

Shu and Matt were heading toward what appeared to be were all the bedrooms were kept.  They looked into each of the bedrooms but couldn't find a thing other then dust and cobwebs.
"Matt, I don't think we're gonna find anything in here." Shu stated as he shut a door to yet another empty room.
"You never know.  Shu... what are you going to do if Katie does't feel the same about you?" Matt asked turning to look at Shu. Shu stared back in shock of the subject he just brought up.
"Matt, can't we just talk about this later?" Shu asked looking back into a door he had just shut.
"Shu, you can't keep ignoreing this. You've got to figure out what your gonna do." Matt insisted.
"You want to know what I'm going to do?" Shu asked looking at Matt, "I'm going to wait and see what happens." Matt looked at him and then just shook his head as they continued their search in silence.

Kenshin realized that she wasn't about to give up until she absolutely had to. He
avoided her next attack and somehow got around to her backside. He was about to hit her
when her second katana seemed to come from nowhere and blocked it. She turned to face
him bother katana's up and ready. She attacked again, Kenshin did his best to keep the
katana's away, but found it hard to do without hurting the girl.  The battle went on like
this for some time.

"There has to be something we can do." Kaoru said getting impatient.
"We can't do anything. If we try to interfere one or both of them could get hurt."
Sano stated.
"I can't stand just standing here. Kenshin can't do anything and neither can we."
Yahiko stated tightening his grip on his practice sword.
"All Kenshin can do is wait till she runs down." Sano said sighing.

Kenshin leaped up into the air and came down straight onto her, she blocked his Sakaba with her Katanas but the strength behind his attack threw her to the ground her katana's flying from her hands.  Kenshin walked up and kneeled down by her, she raised her head and looked to Kenshin then her head dropped back down and her eyes closed.
"Kenshin, is she all right?" Kaoru asked running up to them.
"I don't know." Kenshin said picking her up, "Sano, go get the doctor." Sano did as he was told while Kenshin took the unconscious girl into the house.

"Tsuyu... I was umm.. kinda wondering, how do you know your way around this castle?" Shin asked as they headed to what appeared to be the Throne Room.
"Oh, I was a princesss of this realm." Tsuyu replied casually.
"A Princess?" Shin asked shocked, "Why didn't you tell us before?"
"Why? I"m not really one anymore.. I lost  that title when he took over the kingdom." Tsuyu stated pushing on a wall in front of her. A hidden door apeared in front of them. Tsuyu stepped in and gestured for Shin to follow. He stepped into the small door to find a large tunney. "I don't think they know about the hidden passages in this castle."
"Why do you say that?" Shin asked as he followed her through the labrinth of tunnles.
"I hid in here when he first conquered the country. He was only able to catch me  when I was in the kitchen getting something to eat. I was seen and taken away." Tsuyu explained.
"What about your family?" Shin asked ducking under a low beam.
"They were killed. My younger brother joined with the army against my parents, when he did that he was considered dead." Tsuyu explained solmnly.
"I'm... sorry." Shin said even know it was nothing he did to cause this to happen.
"Wha's done is done... nothing we say or do will bring them back." Tsuyu said shrugging her shoulders.
"I know, but... if it helps any.. your not alone any more." Shin said stopping her and smiling. Tsuyu smiled back for a second and then truged on through the tunnel.

"She'll be all right." Megumi said walking from the room where the girl was put.
"What's wrong with her?" Yahiko asked, "She was fighting really good, and then...
she just stopped."
"She is dehydrated, among other things. All she needs is some water and food."
Megumi said sitting down next to Kaoru, "I got some water down her. And I'll do it every
hour till she's able to do it herself, but she should be awake by tomorrow."
"I wonder why she let herself become like that?" Sano asked.
"If she was so intent on finding this weapon, it's a possibility she didn't bother to
even think about eating or drinking before she found it." Kenshin stated.
"We won't know until she wakes up." Kaoru said standing up, "It's almost time for
lunch. Megumi would you mind helping me."  Megumi nodded and the two went off to
start the meal.  Kenshin walked over to where her katana's still laid on the ground
forgotten. He picked up on and looked at it closely. It looked like a normal katana, but
then as he moved it a bit the sun reflected off of the blade and into Kenshin's eyes. When
the gleam was gone he looked back into the sword, but this time he didn't see his
reflection or the reflection of anything around him. This time he saw the world. The earth,
water, fire, air, and spirit that makes nature what it is.  Sano had walked over and picked
up the other katana to find the same thing.
"Kenshin.." Sano stared looking at the sword in disbelief.
"These are no ordinary katana's." Kenshin stated pulling his eyes from the vision in
the sword.
"Where did they come from?" Sano asked also pulling his eyes from vision.
"I don't know, only she has that answer." Kenshin said looking toward the room where the girl lay.
