1. Summary of the Key Ideas
The Key idea in the "What is Faith?" section is the difference between faith and Faith. The secular definition of faith is that faith is allegiance to duty or a person and Faith is belief and trust in and loyalty to God. A good example of faith is Jim Goodnight, the cofounder and CEO of SAS, because he provided his employees with a relaxing atmosphere by taking away all the stress from a day at work. There were weight rooms, areas to play sports, and day cares for your children all in the property of SAS. He had an idea that providing his employees with a relaxing atmosphere would make them work harder which would help out his business. An example of Faith is the Iraqi suicide bomber because he totally believes in the Koran that he would be rewarded by Allah for killing infidels. He states that the Koran says it is the duty of Muslims to bring terror to the enemy.
2. Two Important Ideas
One idea that I want to remember from this section is that faith means complete trust which means that it is a calculated risk. It is a risk because you can have faith in the St. Louis Rams to win the Super Bowl but you can't prove it ahead of time and this year the Rams are not even going to make the playoffs.
Another key idea from this section is the seven different characteristics of Faith. Faith is grace, requires a free human response, a risk, reasonable, certain, seeks understanding, and Faith is a virtue. These are important to know so you can know what it takes to become a man of Faith.

4. How Does This Apply to me Here and Now?
The idea of faith can be seen all throughout my life. It is important to have faith in people, especially your friends, so you can be happy. If you do not have faith in your friends, then you will always be worrying if they are lieng to you or if they're doing something they should not be doing like going behind your back and putting the moves on your girlfriend when you're not around. Faith is also a part of my life because every Saturday night I go to mass with my family even though some people I know don't go to mass or decide to skip going for a weekend. I cannot remember the last time I skipped Church on the weekend.
