ABOVE: Little Johnny commissions the opera of his dreams (if only he dreamed of opera!). I took the opportunity to be more 'topical', my slant on the many periods in history when the rulers of the day and powers-that-be were subtly lampooned within the operatic form. RIGHT: Madeline Lee - The hatching of an opera. Another 'now' reference... so very 2004 (surely ideal for a yearbook). Madeline Lee by John Haddock received its world premiere in our most recent opera season. |
