My name is Elwyn, Thats me on the left. I am Welsh and I am 46.
I live on the island of Anglesey (Ynys Mon) in North Wales, Thats it on the right.
I am originaly a painter and decorator but always on the hunt for more money have for the last 10 or so years worked overseas as an engineer/fitter/welder for a London firm.
My hobbies and interests are many, and as you can see by this page art is one of them. I prefer oil painting, but as with most people find time is not on my side, and pencil or pen are my quick fix. The art you see on this page are just a few of many, most of which never see the light of day once finished, and over the years have collected dust in folders and boxes in the attic, that is until now. My art is just a hobby and is usualy given away to friends rather than sold.
Being surrounded by water I suppose its hardly suprising I have an interest in fishing, and I go as often as I can. Because of where I live sea fishing is the norm. but I also get over to the mainland every once in a while to give the fly fishing a try, even though I dont eat fish. I was once asked the question "why go fishing if you dont eat fish"?, But isnt that a bit like asking a golfer why he plays golf!.
I also have an interest in anything to do with the historical periods in Welsh history, and although this site is mainly about the Anglesey area, I have an interest in all things Welsh, from the lowly love spoon, and the sight of a mountain steam train as it wends its way through the valley, to the mighty castles that adorn my land.
I often think I was born to late, and think how adventourous it would have been to have lived during the time of all the castle building and the Welsh princes. I suppose if I could speak to someone from that time, they would not paint such a rosy picture, But from the safety and warmth of a house with central heating, double glazing and locks on the doors my fantasys can take flight. What about you, if you could go back to any time in the past, when would you go, and why?. Maybe you`ll let me know when you sign my guest book.
