Utopia

Way up in the sky where ice crystals form,
Is where an Airborne soldier is born....
They lift off and fly to a destination,
They step out of the plane without hesitation...

The sky is so blue no way to describe the hue,
The air is so fresh that if you aren't careful it can turn you blue....
Your mind at peace, your heart forlorn,
for that is the day you are born...

The adrenaline flows through your brain,
For a brief moment you and the elements are no longer twain....
You are a part of gods magnificent creation,
Floating through the air you have a magical sensation......

All to soon you see the jungle, you smell the swamp and into the mud you tumble....
Your brief moment of utopia shattered as the sound of war rumble....
You’re jerked back to reality; war has a utopia of it own, one you don't want to be lost in.....
Now your life you must defend, To kill the enemy is to win.....

Winning is only another day, another sunrise to greet your eyes,
another prayer, Lord allow me to once again soar through your skies....
Felling that magical sensation,
being entwined with your wonderful creation....

Up All Night

Why am I up all night?
It is not because of being tired, or sleepy, it must be fright.

Give me a hammer, a gun, or knife;
yet my night is full of strife.

I toss and turn, my head does spin,
To get to sleep, and rest I can't win.

My mind going faster than racing cars
etched in my mind the thoughts of old scars.

I talk in my sleep, and in my pillow weep,
I dread the night, nightmares do creep.

To take all the medicine leaves me drained,
Not to take it leaves so much pain.

I go through another day with eyes so red,
I am a member of the walking dead.

A Friend, A Brother, A Sister

We all know a Friend is someone who is not taken in by sham,
A friend knows your faults but doesn't give a damn.....
We have brothers and sisters that are born from our parents....
Then we have brothers and sisters that are born in trials and tribulation.

The bloodline may not be ours,
But the blood let covers us like showers.
We are bound by a twist of fate,
Cruel, as it is it is great.

People you never knew will welcome you in,
When the door is slammed shut by your kin.
They will lift your spirit and help lift your burden it seems like there is no end
They will go twice as far as your next of kin.

When you are down and think you are out,
Take just a moment and look about.
You will see stars, clouds and trees,
While you are down on your knees,
You will see a rainbow of all these.

They are red, yellow black and white,
All of them aware of your plight.
They are your brothers, sisters, friends,
Whose love for you shows no end.
