Before I tell you about a typical day in my spoiled Kitty life, let me tell you a little about myself.
My name is Teddy. Sometimes Teddy Bear, except for
when Mommy or Daddy get mad at me, then they call me by
my real name,Theodore.
I was born feral to a feral Mom. That means neither of us had ever known a human's touch. There was a lady named Agnes (my Mommy calls her a "Kitty Angel") whose mission in life is to trap all the feral kitties in Brooklyn and see that they are spayed/neutered or taken to a shelter to be put up for adoption. That is how I came to be in a New Jersey shelter when Mommy and Daddy walked in. I guess you could say that was the luckiest day of my life.
You see, I was a hissing, slashing, biting bundle of fur when they first saw me but they loved me despite all that. I made things very difficult for them at first, never letting them near me, hiding all the time, biting my Daddy so badly that he required medical attention and lots more inappropriate behavior on my part.
Gradually though, I came to love and
trust them and now I am a totally spoiled kitty and loving every minute of it!!
Here's a typical day in my life:
5:45 AM - Time to get up! Before my Daddy started his
new job, we used to sleep much later, but I still have
lots of time to catnap during the day. I get fresh
food and water and my Daddy makes sure my litter box
is clean before leaving for work. He also opens the
front and back windows (if it?s not too hot or cold)
so I can get my taste of the great outdoors.
5:45-6:00 AM - I do about ten laps around the
apartment, using the back of the sofa for my sideways,
gravity-defying run. I must do this every morning and
afternoon so I won?t put on too much weight and Mommy
and Daddy will keep on giving me my "candy bars"
(Whisker Lickin's cat treats).
6:00 AM-2:00 PM - I can be found napping on my fleece
window perch or the living room chair.
12:00PM - Time for a quick lunch and some lovin' from
my Mommy and a little playing with my toys so she can
"awwwwww" and "oooooooh" at me.
12:30 PM-3:00 PM - More naptime.
3:00PM - Time to help Mommy prepare dinner. I have to
check out what she's making to see if I want to sample
some. I love broccoli greens and every time she makes
fresh broccoli, she gives me some (Daddy says the
reason I like veggies so much is because I probably
lived in a dumpster in Brooklyn behind a Chinese
restaurant and that was all there was to eat).
3:45 PM - I wait at the front window and greet Daddy
when he comes home from work. I do another ten laps
around the house to make him laugh and then get some
cuddling time with him.
4:00 PM- 5:30 PM - Naptime again.
5:30 PM - Suppertime. I don't like too much people
food, but I always check out what they're eating to
see if it's one of the three meats I will eat: chicken,
steak or ham. Mommy always makes me up my own dish of
WHATEVER they're having. Can you believe she even
fixes me a dish of spaghetti when they have it?!?!
YECH!
6:00 PM-10:30 PM - This is the time of day that I
leave open on my schedule for playing, being cuddly,
or whatever else pleases Mommy and Daddy I have to
keep them happy too, you know). If they're busy, I
find it very easy to make this another naptime period.
10:30 PM - Bedtime. This is one of my very favorite
times of the day, because it is when Daddy gives me my
candy bars. He's only supposed to give me five, but
if Mommy's not watching, he sneaks me a couple more.
Then we all go to bed and I get to sleep wherever I
want on the bed. I just started sleeping in their bed
with them a couple of months ago and I love it! It's so soft
and warm. I didn't realize what I was missing out on
all those times I was afraid to sleep with them at
night.
Well, anyway, that's a pretty typical day in my life.
Of course, there are a lot of catnip breaks, cuddling
breaks, kissing breaks, cat treat breaks (low-calorie)
and all kinds of other things. I also make time each
day to paint the windows with my "Kitty Graffiti" and
play with my many, many toys. I know I'm a very
spoiled, very lucky cat! If my Mommy and Daddy hadn't
adopted me, I don't know if anyone else would have
wanted me. But you know what? They're pretty lucky
too because they have ME for a son!!
Then there is Aunt Susan's website that I love a whole
lot: Visit Lil'girl
This website is about a little kitten named Dunkin.
It is very sad, but it makes people realize how cruel
some "humans" can be: Dunkin the Little Warrior
Mommy tells me she gets an awful lot of excellent
kitty information here: www.snicksnak.com
And this one is about a shelter that Aunt Tracy works
very closely with: www.luckyones.com
Then there is "Claw", a site just for us kitties where
we can join up and be members. Until you join, you
have to look through the "Visitor's Center": www.claw.org

Cats Names:Theodore
TEDDY'S STORY
My name is Teddy and I do what I want
I eat what I like each day
I sleep where I choose and I choose where I rest
And I do everything else my way.
My word is the law (I mean my Meow)
A sweet purr always succeeds.
My Mommy’s my slave and my Daddy is too
They are trained to tend to my needs.
I have many and various toys that I like
And I play for hours galore.
They ooh and ahh about how cute I am
Then entice me to play some more.
I snot up the windows with kitty graffiti
That they have to clean all the time.
Then I go and do it all over again
Without any reason or rhyme.
I’m never punishedHeaven forbid!
That would certainly be a bore.
I only know that my Mommy’s mad
When she calls me Theodore
I guess I would say I’m a pretty spoiled cat
Each day is a pleasure to live
I love my humans, but in my opinion
They get much more than they give!
