Animal Instinct FYI

Here are the character profiles, terms, and information you should know about my comic Animal Instinct.

Main Characters.
Not only are these characters individuals, they also have specific roles as ways of passing exposition information to the reader without breaking the flow of the story. (Images coming soon!)
- Jezebel: Turtle-Rael. Jeze is aggressive, cynical, introverted, and anti-social, but she manages to tolerate those around her long enough to get what needs to be done, done. The only person she trusts completely is Lalena, because they grew up together and they're rarely seen apart. While she knows that Rael are far superior to humans, she also realizes that an all out war would destroy both species. She will be the first one to point out the differences between human and Rael and explain Rael society and thinking.
- Lalena: Lizard-Rael. 'Lena is almost Jeze's complete opposite. She's cheerful, friendly, outgoing, and seemingly innocent (although she has her not so innocent moments.) Most everyone likes Lalena, and she likes them, excluding those trying to hurt her and her friends. The last thing Lalena wants is to fight anyone, so she's gonna do everything necessary to stop this war from happening. She's slightly empathic so she has a good sense of the emotions and thoughts running around her, and she's got a photographic memory so she can easily recite all relevant past events should anyone need to be reminded.
- Rusty: Fox-Rael. The first word that comes to mind to describe Rusty is lazy. Unless it has to do with the technology he loves so much, he'll do his best to pawn the job off onto someone else. But he never lets his friends down and is known for coming in at the last possible second. Rusty hates the idea of war because it's that much more work, and he certainly doesn't want his friends getting killed. Rusty is always willing to explain the technology of the times to anyone who'll listen, and even some who won't.
- Crystal: Human. Crystal is an assertive, determined, and curious young woman. She grew up around both humans and Rael and has a great number of Rael friends. She would like nothing more then lasting peace between the species. Even though Crystal grew up around Rael, it doesn't mean she's an expert, far from it, she's a student in Rael studies. She'll be asking questions about Rael society and also supplying information about human society and the government.
- Gloria: Bat-Rael. Gloria is a good, nice person, but just a little ditzy. Gloria does a lot of spying and surveillance, and not just on the enemy. She can glide for short distances, and has excellent hearing that includes ranges well out of the range of even her fellow Rael. Her motto is "Make love, not war" and just wishes everyone would get along. Gloria is a living rumor mill, she knows what's going on with everyone on both sides and often gets her team info long before official channels do.
- De'four: Crocodile-Rael. De'four is one of the oldest living Rael, and as such, he is experienced and wise, the perfect leader for this bunch of well meaning ragtags. He serves as teacher and mentor as well, since most of them never finished their battle training. He's been through one war, the last thing he wants is another. De'four is the voice of experience and history.

Secondary Characters. Characters that aren't the center of the story, but play important roles in some way.
- Rudolf (last name TBA): Human. The leader of the anti-Rael group. A cruel, ruthless, evil man who believes humans should have complete control over everything, including the Rael. It's not hard to figure out what motivates him, power and control, and he doesn't seem to have conscience, just a "whatever it takes" mentality.
- Paul (last name TBA): Human. Rudolf's second in command. His father and brother were killed in WW4 by Rael soldiers, but Paul knows that soldiers die in wartime. However, Paul's mother was driven insane with grief and rage, and demanded that Paul go avenge their deaths. So, his heart really isn't in it, and maybe one day, he'll give it all up.
- Hector: Cheetah-Rael. Hector's just out for himself and just tends to be annoying most of the time. He's of no real help to anyone unless they want to get laid, that's pretty much all he's interested in.
- Victoria: Fox-Rael. Rusty's "sister", the only way to really describe her is "bitch". She's overly bitter towards humans, but the prejudice is based on a few petty, pride-wounding events that prove just how shallow she really is. She occasionally pops in to mess things up for our protagonists.
- (Name TBA): Snake-Rael. Leader of the anti-human group, he feels that since Rael were created stronger, faster, and in some cases smarter than humans, that they should be ruling over the humans. But unlike Rudolf, he'd never harm his own if he could help it, whereas Rudolf wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice twenty men to kill one Rael.
- Doctor Sydney Rael: Human. Sydney is the scientist who first created the Rael, hence why they are named after him. He doesn't show up often (as he's thought to be dead) but he's still an important influence as "The Creator".
- Jelath (last name TBA): Human. Crystal's aunt and leader of the Rael supporters. She's the one who started the movement for Rael rights, and has become known as "The Savior". She's married to a Lizard-Rael named Bosh.

Terms you should know. These are terms invented for this world that may pop up. As they are so well known in the world (almost like slang) no one will question them and ask what they mean in the story. So here they are.
- Rael: The name of the species of animal-people in the story. When speaking about an individual race you place the dominate animal in front of the word, (i.e. Turtle-Rael for a Rael who most strongly resembles a turtle.) This is also the surname of the scientist who created the Rael.
- First gen: Short for First Generation, it refers to the oldest group of Rael. They were all male, big, muscle-bound, with below-average to average intelligence, although there were exceptions.
- Second gen: Short for Second Generation, it refers to the next, and largest group of Rael. These were "improvements" on the first generation. There was a lot more variety this time around, including females. They weren't just for the front line anymore, they worked in intelligence and infiltration as well. They were faster, stronger per pound, and much smarter than most humans.
- Third gen: Short for Third Generation, this is the group most of our main cast comes from. They were created and trained at the end of the war, but never saw battle, the war ended before they were finished.
- Fourth gen: Short for Fourth Generation. The newest group of Rael, they weren't created in some government lab, they were born from parents. They are still very much children, and won't be included very often.
More to come...
