I
saw my first afghan hound back in the seventies and knew
that I had to have one. They were the most beautiful
creatures
I had ever seen. It was some months before I actually got
one.
My cousin, Marty, bought her for me as a gift. She was a
lovely
black masked red and we named her Kasha. She was of
Scheherezade and Crown Crest background. Salem Shae was
a Ch. Raja of Scheherezade son and Sabu was a Shangrila
Pharaoh Pati daughter. She was a lovely, elegant creature
with an independent spirit. I learned very quickly that
afghan
hounds are not your typical "faithful, obedient
servant". She
was aloof and dignified. When she moved, she appeared to
float effortlessly. She let us know who was superior with
one
glance. She looked right through us. We adored her.
