Carly refusing to wear Sonny's ring
Dimpled Don, Sonny Corinthos got a surprise when he took out a ring and proposed to his pregnant girlfriend Carly Benson. Although she agreed to marry him, she refused to wear the ring he bought for her. She wanted to continue to wear the ring another man had given her and declared the ring meant they loved each other, which they don't.
Mr. Corinthos replied that the ring was his promise to her and that he couldn't give her love and didn't want her to love him in return. Although the way his voice cracked emotionally when he said that seemed to declare that to be a lie. They ended things with Ms. Benson promising to think about wearing his ring.
When things began to heat up between the duo, Mr. Corinthos had a bit of petty revenge when he pulled away and said they shouldn't take this any further since he doesn't want to crowd her. No ring, no nookie. However, Mr. Corinthos resolve failed him as a short while later he headed upstairs to Ms. Benson, unbuttoning his shirt as he went. The only thing that stopped him was a knock at the door and the bellowing of Disco King, Luke Spencer.

The wandering former owner of the Campus Disco, Luke Spencer, returned from his current travels and made his presence immediately felt by the residents of PC.
His first stop was over at the penthouse of former best friend and godfather of the mob, Sonny Corinthos. Upon his arrival he blamed Mr. Corinthos for his new partner, Roy DeLucca being arrested.
Hearing her uncle attacking her lover, Mr. Corinthos' pregnant girlfriend, Carly Benson, told her uncle his good buddy Roy was an FBI snitch and told him to get out.
When Mr. Spencer returned to his office he found Police Commissioner Mac Scorpio's wife waiting for him. Things quickly turned hot and heavy as the above picture can prove. Mrs. Scorpio got cold feet at the last minute and ran out through the crowded nightclub topless and run into her husband and Mr. Spencer's soon to be ex-wife, Laura.

After Luke Spencer departed, Mr. Corinthos told his girlfriend, Ms. Benson he should have thrown her uncle out when he referred to her as a slut. She quickly pointed out that used to be his favorite name for her, and he told her he was wrong. After that, Mr. Corinthos and Ms. Benson headed upstairs where they made love again.
A few days later when Mr. Corinthos and Ms. Benson went to the hospital to have a sonogram for their baby they discovered they're going to have a boy.

It seemed Luke Spencer's warnings to Roy DeLucca about Sonny Corinthos double-crossing him and selling him out were right on the money, as Mr. Corinthos lured Mr. DeLucca into a trap and handed the escaped felon over to dirty fed, John Larken. Things took a deadly turn when Agent Larken handed Mr. Corinthos a gun and ordered him to shoot Mr. Delucca. With a business is business shrug, Mr. Corinthos did just that.
