CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
COFFEE WAREHOUSE:
Carly: What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be in jail?
Larkin: What can I say? All the charges were dropped against me. Those dresses must be heavy. Would you like me to take them from you.
Carly(backs away from him)Get away from me.
Larkin(holds up his hands and backs away)No offense, Ms. Benson. I just thought it would be easier to give you this if your hands were free.
Carly:(looks at the document he’s holding in his hand like it’s a snake)What is it?
Larkin: Take it and find out for yourself.
Carly(lets the dresses drop to the ground then grabs the paper out of his hand and unfolds it. After she reads it, she shoves it back at him)Take it back.
Larkin(smiles)Sorry, Ms. Benson, you’ve just been served. If you fail to show up to testify at the grand jury hearing against Mr. Corinthos, you will be thrown in jail.
Carly: I don’t know anything about Sonny’s business. There’s nothing I can tell you.
Larkin: Sure there is. You saw me find drugs in one of his coffee bags. You can prove he’s shipping in drugs.
Carly: You mean I saw you find drugs that you planted in one of the coffee bags.
Larkin: Yes, but who will believe you. It’ll sound like the desperate ramblings of a woman trying to protect her lover. All that will matter is you saw me find drugs in one of your boyfriend’s coffee bags. It’ll be enough to send him to prison for the rest of his life. I’ll see you in court, Ms. Benson. You have a nice day now.(with that he walked off with a smarmy smile on his face).
WYNDEMERE:
Mrs. Lansbury(enters)Mr. Cassadine, Ms. Spencer and Mr. DeLucca are here.
Stefan: Please send them in.
Bobbie(and Roy enter. Bobbie can’t meet Stefan’s eyes, so she looks around the room)Where’s Lucas.
Stefan: He’s upstairs playing in his old room.
Roy: Then why don’t you get him.
Stefan: I’m afraid it isn’t as easy as that, Mr. DeLucca.
Roy: What’s hard about it. Just go upstairs, get the kid and bring him down.
Stefan(turns away from Roy and addresses himself to Bobbie)Barbara, Lucas does not want to go home with you. (he glances scathingly at Roy)I think it’s obvious why. He is, however, willing to go home with you if you ask Mr. DeLucca here to move out of the brownstone.
Bobbie: What!
Roy: Excuse me?
Stefan: You both heard me correctly. Barbara, since this felon returned to town you’ve neglected your son and put him(he motions to Roy)first. Your son needs to know that he comes first with you. And you can do that by making a gesture to him. Kick the convict to the curb.
Roy: First off, I don’t like being talked about like I’m not even in the room. And secondly, Bobbie told me all the trouble you’ve been causing her, lately. I bet the kid didn’t think of this himself. You put this in his head, didn’t you.
Stefan: Mr. DeLucca, the kid disliked you long before I was brought into the picture. He ran away because he didn’t want to live with you. And having met you, I can understand why. If Barbara refuses to evict you from the brownstone, then I have no intention of letting her take Lucas from here.
Bobbie: Stefan, Lucas is my son. You can’t keep me from him.
Stefan: If Lucas means so much to you, then prove it. Give your current bedwarmer his walking papers.
Roy(grabbed Stefan by the lapels of his coat)Who the hell do you think you are.
Stefan: Get your hands off me, peasant.
Roy: Gladly. (he shoves Stefan away from him. Stefan loses his balance and he starts falling backwards. His lower-back hits the side of his desk as he falls and he lands on the floor screaming in agony)
Bobbie(rushes to Stefan’s side)Stefan, where does it hurt. Is it your kidneys?
Stefan: How do you know...
Bobbie: I looked at your medical file.(she turns back to Roy)Roy, call 911. Tell them to get an ambulance out to Spoon Island, immediately.
SONNY’S OFFICE, THE WAREHOUSE:
Sonny(something makes Sonny look up from the papers he’s working on and sees Carly standing in his office door looking like she just got kicked in the stomach)Carly, I thought you left. What’s wrong? What is it?
Carly: Sonny, we’ve got to get married. Right now. Today.
