CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

EMERGENCY ROOM, GENERAL HOSPITAL:

EXAMINING ROOM:

Alexis: Stefan, if you do that, Roy DeLucca will be sent back to prison.

Stefan: So?

Alexis: Stefan, the man was a snitch for the FBI. The inmates know that. You’ll be sentencing the man to a death sentence if you send him back to jail.

Stefan: Isn’t that what he just did to me. My kidneys were in bad enough condition, but he made them worse. I’m going to have to go into surgery so the doctor’s can try and repair the damage he did to my one functioning kidney. I could wake-up with no functioning kidneys and have to be hooked up to a machine so I can stay alive. Even if they can repair the damage he did to me, I may still have to be hooked up to a machine.

Alexis: Stefan, I told you I’ll give you my kidney. You won’t have to be hooked up to any machines, at all. So you don’t have to do this.

Stefan: Are you going to do what I ask or do I have to delay my surgery long enough so Mac Scorpio can come over here and I can press charges myself.

Alexis: Fine, Stefan, I’ll do it. But I don’t like it.

Stefan: That’s entirely besides the point. All I care is that you do what I’ve asked.

SONNY’S PENTHOUSE:

Carly(comes in with her arms loaded with books)I should have taken Johnny with me so he could have carried these books for me.(she dumps them on the sofa next to Sonny)I thought my arms were going to break off before I got here. (she flops down on the couch next to the books and sighs)

Sonny(motioning to the books sitting between them)What’s all this?

Carly: I went to Wyndham’s and registered us at the bridal registry. They gave me all these. These books contain samples of linens, silverware and china among a few other things. I guess we my as well start with the china patterns.

Sonny: I already have sheets and dishes. Lily picked all that out when we got married.

Carly: No offense, Sonny, but I have no intention of laying on your dead wife’s sheets or eating off your dead wife’s plates. When you marry me, I will be your wife, not her. When you’re married to me, we will be using our things, not hers.

Sonny: They’re perfectly good. What am I supposed to do with them.

Carly: Why don’t you box them up and give them to her son. He doesn’t have anything of his mother’s, does he? This will be it. I only know one thing. There’s only enough room for one wife’s things in this penthouse and that wife is me. Now where were we? Oh, yes, the china patterns. (she shoves the book under his nose)So, what do you think of this one?

Sonny: Lily picked all this stuff out by herself. She didn’t need my input.

Carly: Sonny, I wanted to go down to City Hall and get married, but you insisted we have a church wedding. All this stuff goes with a church wedding. Since the church wedding wasn’t my idea, I have no intention of doing all this by myself. You wanted the church wedding, so you’re going to go through every single one of these books with me. So, what do you think about this for our china pattern.

Sonny; It’s fine with me.

Carly: Oh, no you don’t. You’re not going to agree with the first pattern I show you so you can get through this quickly. You and I are going to look at every one of these china patterns and we’re going to pick out the one we like best.

HELENA’S YACHT:

Andreas(enters)Madam, a situation has developed that you’ll want to know about.

Helena: What is it?

Andreas: Stefan has been admitted to the hospital. It seems there was some kind of altercation between him and Roy DeLucca.

Helena; Is it his kidney?

Andreas: They’re operating on him to try and repair the damage. If they can’t, than an immediate transplant will become necessary.

Helena: I was counting on having more time to pull this off. I haven’t even arranged for Tammy Carson to be taken care of yet.

Andreas: What are you going to do?

Helena: Catch up with the Eddie Maine concert tour and reveal to my granddaughter who she really is.

Andreas: Ned Ashton will try to stop you.

Helena; Trust me, Andreas, I know exactly how to handle Ned Ashton. In fact, he’s going to help my break the news to Emily. He’ll have no choice in the matter when I’m through with him.

EMERGENCY ROOM, GENERAL HOSPITAL:

WAITING ROOM:

Bobbie(watching Roy pace)Roy, would you please calm down.

Roy: How can I, Bobbie. They just took Cassadine into surgery. As much as I dislike the guy whatever happens to him is going to adversely effect me. I can’t be sent back to prison, Bobbie, I can’t.

Bobbie(comes up behind him and hugs him)Roy, you won’t be. It was just an accident. You didn’t mean for this to happen, and if worse comes to worse, I’m sure the police will see that.

Mac: (walks up to them) Hello, Bobbie. DeLucca.

Bobbie: Mac, what are you doing here.

Mac: I’ve come to arrest Mr. DeLucca for assaulting Mr. Cassadine.

Bobbie: What!

Mac: Mr. DeLucca, you have the right to remain silent. If you give up that right anything you say can be used against you in a court of law.

Bobbie: Mac, you can’t do this!

Mac:(ignoring her)You have a right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you.

Bobbie: Mac, Roy didn’t do anything!

Mac: Do you understand these rights?

Roy: Yes.

Bobbie; Mac, if you put Roy back in jail he’ll die!

Mac:(slaps handcuffs on Roy and begins to lead him away)Let’s go, DeLucca.

Bobbie:(calls after them) Mac!
