CHAPTER THIRTEEN

SONNY’S PENTHOUSE:

Sonny(shocked)Emily Quartermaine is your daughter?

Tammy: Yeah, a real shock, huh. Who’d figure a great kid like Emily Quartermaine would have me for a mother.

Sonny: Helena Cassadine, apparently. Tammy, how could you be so stupid to get involved with a Cassadine. You know the kind of reputation those people have, especially in this town.

Tammy: I didn’t know he was a Cassadine when I was involved with him. I didn’t find out until after he was dead. And I found out he was dead when I read the paper about how Stavros Cassadine fell down the stairs at the Mayor’s mansion while trying to kill Luke and Laura. By then it was too late. Apparently, while Stavros was keeping Laura a prisoner on the island he was also shacking up with me. He’d disappear every little while for long periods of time, then suddenly he’d be back. I think he was in town spying on Luke. After I gave my sister Emily to raise, I thought the whole thing was behind me.

Sonny: Until Helena Cassadine showed up on your doorstep. Why do you think she wants.

Tammy: I haven’t got a clue. All she said was she wants me to go to Emily and tell her she’s a Cassadine.

Sonny: Are Emily and Nikolas becoming romantically involved with each other. Biologically they’re brother and sister. That would explain why she wants the truth to come out after all this time.

Tammy: No, she’s still totally hung up on that Juan kid.

Sonny: Then this doesn’t make any sense, at all. One thing I know about Helena Cassadine, though. She doesn’t do anything without a reason.

Tammy: Sonny, what am I gonna do?

Sonny: Let me see what I can do, then I’ll get back to you.

WYNDEMERE:

Mrs. Lansbury(enters)Mr. Cassadine, you’ve got a visitor out here waiting to see you.

Stefan(removes his glasses and looks up from his papers)As far as I know, I’m not expecting anyone.

Mrs. Lansbury(smiles)Mr. Cassadine, I’m sure you’ll want to see this visitor.

Lucas(peeks around her voluminous skirts)Hello, Uncle.

Stefan(smiles)Lucas, what are you doing here.

Lucas: I just thought I’d come out to visit you.

Stefan(senses he has a little situation on his hands)Really? (he turns to Mrs. Lansbury) Mrs. Lansbury, will you bring us some milk and cookies, please.

Mrs. Lansbury: Yes, sir. (she exits)

Stefan: Now, Lucas, you haven’t come out to visit me since you and your mother moved out of here. You want to tell me what’s really going on.

Lucas: I’ve run away. My mother and father were going to make me go live with my mother back at the brownstone.

Stefan: Don’t you want to live with your mother.

Lucas: Not if I have to live with HIM too.

Stefan: Who is HIM?

Lucas: Roy! I don’t like him. He made Jerry go away. Uncle, can I live here with you, instead. We used to have fun together when I lived here. We could again. You won’t make me live with HIM like my father’s trying to do, will you?

THE GATEHOUSE, THE QUARTERMAINE ESTATE:

Ned(opens the door to Sonny)Corinthos, if you’re here to gloat about now owning ELQ, I don’t want to hear it. I have nothing to do with ELQ, anymore. If you want to gloat, just take that italian suit clad hide of yours up to the main house and gloat there.

Sonny: How did you find out that I own ELQ?

Ned: Jax sent Grandfather a little video tape before he left town informing him of what he did.

Sonny: Figures. Ned, I’m not hear about ELQ, I’m hear about Emily.

Ned: What about Emily. I told you I don’t want you to have anything to do with her.

Sonny: I’m not the one you have to worry about. The one you’ve got to worry about is Helena Cassadine.

Ned: Helena Cassadine? Why would Helena want anything to do with Emily.

Sonny: Because Emily is Helena’s biological granddaughter.

Ned:(shakes his head in denial) That’s impossible.

Sonny: Afraid not, Nedley. It’s all too true. And Granny Helena wants to get to know her granddaughter and really soon.

Ned: If Helena is Emily’s grandmother, that means one of her sons has to be her father. Are you telling me Stefan Cassadine is Emily’s father?

Sonny: No, the dead one is. Apparently, he and my friend Tammy got it on together some years back and Emily was the result.

Ned: My God, Emily is the product of a hooker and a Cassadine. I’m not sure which is worse.

Sonny: And you think being the product of a Quartermaine is any better. Watch out, Ashton, your snobbery is showing.

Ned: Look, Corinthos, this isn’t the time for us to start sniping at each other. What are we going to do about Helena Cassadine.

Sonny: I came to you hoping you might have some ideas.

Ned: Just how long has Helena known about Emily. Did you friend Tammy go to her and try to extort money from her and that’s how she found out.

Sonny: Watch your mouth, Ashton. Tammy isn’t that type. She’s true blue. According to Tammy, Helena claims to know have always known Emily was her granddaughter. She just didn’t decide to do anything about it until now.

Ned: The question remains why does she want to claim Emily now. (then it suddenly comes to Ned) Oh, my god!

Sonny: What?

Ned: She wants to harvest Emily’s organs.

Sonny: What!

Ned: Stefan Cassadine’s kidneys are going bad and he needs a transplant. Alexis has offered to be the donor, but Helena mustn’t know that. So she thinks that Emily would be the perfect person to donate a kidney to Stefan, since she’s Stavros’ daughter. That’s why she suddenly wants to claim Emily as her granddaughter. The woman is depraved.

Sonny: So what are we going to do about it?

Ned: Stop her! What else.
