CHAPTER SIXTY-NINE
HELENA’S YACHT:
Helena: So, Detective Garcia, what can you tell me about the Sex Toy Stalker investigation.
Garcia: Taggart thought he had a break in the case when your son saw Chloe Morgan attacking Bobbie Spencer at her Brownstone, but Chloe Morgan was having sex with Mac at the time of the attack so they think the killer may have been trying to set up Ms. Morgan. Mac thinks she might be in danger so he’s moved her into his house with him so he can protect her.
Helena: Does Commissioner Scorpio have any idea who might want to do something like that. I mean, the woman is such an inoffensive creature why would anyone want to set her up?
Garcia: Ms. Morgan claims she has no enemies so it’s a mystery. Do you mind me asking why you’re so interested in the Stalker case?
Helena: Detective Garcia, I’m a woman and this maniac is going around killing women. I know all the previous victims have been much younger than me, but I’m still very worried. Who knows with a maniac like that? He could attacked me next. Most of the women lived on the waterfront as do I. Detective Garcia, I really hope you don’t think I was asking about this because you think I’m somehow involved in this. You know, it’s really gotten very tedious that everything something happens in this town the automatic response is to point a finger at me.
Garcia: You’re beginning to sound like Sonny Corinthos. He has the same complaint whenever the police show up on his doorstep to question him about a crime that’s taken place in town.
Helena: Apparently, Detective Garcia, Mr. Corinthos and I are the police departments two favorite suspects whenever a crime is committed. If you ask me it’s pure laziness on their part. They’d save themselves a lot of time if instead of harassing me and Mr. Corinthos when a crime is committed in this town, they’d go out and try to find the real culprit. Thank you for the information, Detective Garcia. Your weekly check will be deposited in the off-shore bank account as usual. (Helena waited until she was sure he was long gone before turning to Andreas)Well, Andreas, it looks like I’ll have to be the Stalker’s next victim.
Andreas: Are you mad, Madam?
Helena: The only way I’m going to throw those keystone cops off my scene is if I’m the next one attacked. I, of course, won’t be killed. But we must make it look real. Only that inane twit would have the luck to be in bed with the police commissioner when I’m trying to frame her for being the Stalker. We’ll have to find someone new to take the fall for us. Someone that has a reason to want to frame dear Chloe. But who could it be? I’m afraid the only one I can think of is my dear Jax. It’s such a waste of a fine specimen, but I do owe him for what he did to me. We’ll have to make sure he doesn’t have anyway to prove where he was at the times of the killings so we can convince people he slipped into Port Charles on his private jet and carried out the killings. Jax does have this tendency to want to rescue women. Maybe we can convince the authorities Jax thinks by dispatching these soiled doves he’s actually saving them.
Tony(entered)I thought you’d like the latest update on you son’s condition.
Helena: Has Stefan’s remaining kidney stopped functioning all together?
Stefan: No, but it can’t hold out much longer. Stefan has to be on a dialysis machine once a week now to clean the toxins out of his blood. But that’s not why I’m here. A donor’s been found. The tests for compatibility just came back. She’s a perfect match, but even before we knew the test results she made it clear she wouldn’t donate one of her kidneys.
Helena: Tell me who she is and I’ll convince her otherwise.
Tony; It’s Carly Corinthos. As it turns out she’s Stefan’s daughter. But she’s made it clear she won’t give her kidney to him.
Helena; That selfish wretch. Didn’t anyone ever teach her it’s her duty to honor her father and give him one of her kidneys if he needs one. What about the other test?
Tony: You’re also a perfect match to donate a kidney to Stefan.
Helena; Stefan and I a perfect match for each other? Who would have thought it?
Tony: Do you want me to go ahead and tell him I’ve found a donor? You.
Helena: Dr. Jones, I gave birth to Stefan, I think that was more than enough, don‘t you? Why should I have to give him one of my kidneys, as well. Don’t get me wrong, Dr. Jones. I’ll give him my kidney if there’s no other alternative. But as you’ve just told me there is. Carly Corinthos. I’ll just have to see what I can do to convince her to give Stefan one of her kidneys instead.
