CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

THE BALLROOM, THE NURSES BALL:

Sonny(as he and Carly sit back down in their seats)Don’t ever do that to me, again.

Carly: Sonny, did you see them. Did you see Ms. Moneybags, Amanda Barrington. She looked like she wanted to rip your clothes off.

Sonny: And you love that.

Carly: You bet I do. Sonny, all these people in this room look down on us like we’re not even good enough to breathe the same air as them. Sure, when they need money or a favor from you, they come knocking at your door with their hands out-stretched. But would they ever think of inviting you or me to dinner at their home? Not on your life. It would sully them some how to break bread with us. And we had they all in the palm of our hands. They were all breathless as they watched us up there on that stage.

Emily:(comes up to them) Excuse me, Sonny, there’s someone outside who wants to see you.

Carly: Who is it?

Emily: The person wants it to be a surprise.

Sonny(kisses Carly)I’ll be right back. Lead the way.

Carly(watches as they walk away wondering who could want to see Sonny. Then Bobbie comes up to her)Mama, what are you doing here? I thought you and Cassadine left.

Bobbie: I’ve been trying to find someone to stay with Lucas for the night. Betty said she can’t stay. Would you and Sonny mind taking care of him, tonight.

Carly: You’re going to sleep with Cassadine, aren’t you?

Bobbie: I’m just giving him what he paid for.

Carly: That’s bull. You want to sleep with him, don’t you.

Bobbie: Maybe if I give Stefan what he wants, he’ll give me what I want and drop the charges against Roy.

Carly: That’s bull and you know it. You want to sleep with him, don’t you? I can see it written all over you. You can’t wait to have sex with him.

Bobbie: All right, it’s true. I want to have sex with Stefan. I enjoy having sex with him. It’s as good between Stefan and me as it is between you and Sonny. So why shouldn’t I have sex with him.

Carly: Does the name Roy ring a bell. You know, the love of your life.

Bobbie: This has nothing to do with Roy. It’s completely separate from what Roy and I have.

Carly: Somehow I don’t think Roy would agree.

Bobbie: Well, Roy, will never know, will he? And if I can get Stefan to drop the charges against Roy and enjoy myself while I’m doing it, so much the better. Don’t judge me, Carly. Just tell me. Will you take care of Lucas for the night or not.

Carly: Fine, I’ll take care of him, but you’re playing with fire and you’re going to get burned.

Bobbie: Carly, instead of worrying about me, why don’t you worry about Robin and why she wants to speak to Sonny alone.

Carly: Robin! You mean she’s back in town? What do you mean she wants to speak to Sonny alone.

Bobbie: I heard her asking Emily to get Sonny to come out and meet her.

Carly: That’s who the mystery person who wants to see Sonny is. Well, I’m going to put a stop to that right this instant.

Bobbie: Carly, maybe you shouldn’t.

Carly: Nobody is going to come between Sonny and I. If they try, they’re going to regret it. Sonny’s mine and no one is going to take him from me, ever. You do what you gotta do and I’ll do what I gotta do.(she storms off in the direction Sonny left in)

Mac: So, Chloe, do you think you’re ready to leave.

Chloe: The party seems pretty much over. Everything seems pretty anti-climatic after Sonny and Carly’s dance, doesn’t it.

Mac: I’ll give Corinthos one thing. He knows how to do the Tango. He had every woman in this room turned on by what he was doing up there.

Chloe: Not just the women. I’d bet every single person in this room can’t wait until this evening is over so they can go home and have sex. You want to come home and have sex with me?

Mac:(shocked)Excuse me? Did you just say what I thought you said? What about Jax?

Chloe(sighs)I get tired of being little Mary Sunshine for Jax. Don’t you get tired of being steady and reliable Mac for Felicia. It didn’t take me long being with Jax to discover he preferred me to always be happy, because on the few occasions that he saw I wasn’t, he went out of his way to make me happy, so I found it was just easier to pretend to always be happy for him. What about you? Are you really steady and reliable Mac or do you just pretend to be because that’s what Felicia wants you to be?

Mac: I used to be the black sheep of my family. I was always in trouble. I used to spend most of my time in brothels. I made my living by being a mercenary. There wasn’t anything I wouldn’t do for the right price. Does that sound like steady and reliable Mac to you?

Chloe: So how did you become steady and reliable Mac?

Mac; Robin. Her parents died and I was all she had left, so I had to become her mother and father and finish raising her. Then Felicia came back to town and I got involved in all her problems and I became what she needed me to be. But no, steady and reliable Mac is not who I am.

Chloe; I sensed the first time I met you that we were kindred spirits. So do you want to go to bed with me?

Mac: Yes, I think I’d like that very much. What are we waiting for.

THE TERRACE:

Sonny(is shocked when he sees Robin waiting for him)Robin! You’re the one who wanted to see me?

Robin: Sonny, what’s wrong with you! How could you get involved with Carly!
