CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT

CHLOE’S ROOM, THE PORT CHARLES HOTEL:

Chloe(and Alexis enter)I can’t believe they held me there all night questioning me. Can you think of anything more ridiculous than suspecting me of being a serial killer.

Alexis: It doesn’t matter what I think. What matters is that you were the last person seen with Hannah and Tammy before they were murdered. It doesn’t look good, Chloe. From now on you’ve got to keep all this stuff about your visions to yourself.

Chloe; Even if I can stop someone else from being murdered.

Alexis: Chloe, if you’re seen with one more of the murder victims right before they’re killed there’s going to be nothing I can do to stop Mac and Taggart from arresting you.

Chloe: I can’t believe the way Mac treated me, especially after...

Alexis: After what? Chloe, did something happen between you and Mac?

Chloe: Mac and I slept together after the Nurses Ball.

Alexis: You cheated on Jax!

Chloe; No, I didn’t cheat on him, exactly. I just had sex with Mac.

Alexis: Chloe, that’s called cheating on Jax.

Chloe: Alexis, you don’t know what it’s like to have to be Jax’s perfect golden girl 24/7. I just needed to let my hair down with a man that I could be myself with for a change.

Alexis: And you let it down with Mac Scorpio. Oh, this keeps getting better and better. Please tell me you didn’t exchange any pillow talk that could be used against you in a court of law.

Chloe: I suppose some of the things I said to Mac could be misconstrued and could make me look like a likely suspect. Oh, Alexis, what am I going to do.

Alexis: First off, you need to tell Jax what happened between you and Mac before he finds out on his own.

Chloe: Alexis, I can’t do that. If I do that, I’ll lose him.

Alexis; Chloe, if the police decide to arrest you, whatever you said to Mac will come out in a court of law, including the fact the two of you slept together.

Chloe: Not if I can convince Mac I’m innocent. If I can, Jax need never know Mac and I slept together.

Alexis: And just how do you intend to do that.

Chloe: By sleeping with him again.

Alexis: Chloe!

Chloe: Look, Alexis, I’ve already done the deed with Mac. Is it going to make that big a difference if I do it with Mac a few more times.

Alexis: I don’t want to hear this. (with that she walks out of the room).

JET EN ROUTE TO ENGLAND:

Sonny(sits staring broodingly at Carly who is continuing to give him the cold treatment)Look, Carly, this is our honeymoon. Are you going to act like Jack Frost throughout the duration of it.

Carly: Are you accusing me of ruining our honeymoon? I’m not the one who announced he never wants to have another baby with me.

Sonny: I told you it has nothing to do with you. It’s me. I know if we try to have another child it’ll die before it even gets a chance to be born just like my other two children did.

Carly: And I told you that was nonsense. You won’t even consider us having another child. If you think I’m going to be all warm and cuddly to you after that, you’ve got another think coming.

The Pilot(enters from the cockpit)Mr. and Mrs. Corinthos, I just got an urgent message from the control tower. They said it’s urgent that you and Mrs. Corinthos return to Port Charles immediately.

Sonny: Did they say why?

The Pilot: No, they said you’d be informed once you returned home.

Carly: We may as well go home. This honeymoon ended on our wedding night. I have no desire to be stuck with you for the next two weeks.

Sonny: I’ve got news for you, sweetheart, you’re going to be stuck with me for the rest of our lives. (he turns to the pilot)Turn the plane around. We’re heading back to Port Charles. (Sonny turns back to Carly when she starts laughing)What’s so funny?

Carly: I was just remembering when I told you how much you resembled that guy in that historical romance novel I read once. Little did I know then just how right I was. The guy in the book didn’t want to have a child with his bride, either.

Sonny: Is this the way things are going to be like between us from now on?

Carly: It will until you change your mind and agree to make a baby with me.

HELENA’S YACHT:

Helena(as Andreas applies make-up to her face)Are you finished yet, Andreas.

Andreas: It’ll be just one minute, Madame. Voila, Madame, you are all finished.

Helena: How do I look?

Andreas: Take a look for yourself, Madame.

Helena(goes over to the mirror and sees Chloe Morgan’s face staring back at her)Andreas, you’re a genius. Anyone who sees me will think I am Chloe Morgan. And when I kill our next victim, they’ll actually think it was Chloe Morgan who committed the crime.

Andreas: Have you chosen who that victim will be?

Helena: Yes, I have. Come on, Andreas. (she drops a dildo in her purse) Let’s go take care of her now.

STEFAN’S DEN, WYNDEMERE:

Alexis(enters to find Stefan leaning over a pile of papers on his desk)What are you up to?

Stefan: Alexis, what are you doing here so late?

Alexis: Ned’s back on his concert tour, I’m too restless to sleep, and I wanted to find out how things went with you and Bobbie after I left.

Stefan: Barbara admitted the truth. I am Caroline’s father.

Alexis: So what happens next?

Stefan: She’ll tell Caroline the truth when she returns from her honeymoon.

Alexis; Do you really think Carly will agree to donate one of her kidneys to you to save your life.

Stefan: You apparently don’t.

Alexis; I hope I’m wrong, but my impression of the woman is she’s very selfish and only thinks of herself. I just don’t see her giving you one of her kidneys and I’d feel more comfortable if your life didn’t depend on her.

Stefan: People have said the same thing about me a time or two.

Alexis: Enough about Carly. Just what are those papers that you were finding so fascinating when I came in.

Stefan: Possible proof that Mother is the Sex Toy Stalker.

Alexis: You’ve got to be kidding. I’m not saying Helena isn’t completely capable of it, but what would she have to gain by becoming a serial sex killer.

Stefan: That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Maybe you can help me. Your significant other is close to Emily Quartermaine and your friends with Sonny Corinthos who was friends with Tammy Carson.

Alexis: Shoot.

Stefan: Was there any bad blood between Mother and Tammy Carson?

Alexis; Was there ever. Tammy, Sonny and Ned tried to prevent Emily from finding out she was really a Cassadine. You know how Helena gets when someone tries to thwart her.

Stefan: So Mother may have had reason to want Tammy Carson dead and that would explain why she was at Sonny and Carly’s wedding. She disappeared before the wedding took place. But how do Hannah Scott and the other woman who was killed fit in to this.

Alexis: Well, if Helena out-and-out killed Tammy she’d be the first one suspected because of all the trouble between her and Tammy. Both the first victim and Tammy were ex-hookers. Maybe Helena thought she could convince the police they had some psycho running around lose killing ex-hookers.

Stefan: What about Hannah Scott. She wasn’t an ex-hooker.

Alexis; Maybe Hannah was killed by mistake. We were all dressed alike for the Bachelorette Auction. Maybe Tammy was supposed to die that night, but Hannah was mistaken for Tammy and that’s why she was killed.

Stefan: Yes, this sounds exactly like something Mother would do. And I bet I know who Mother’s next victim will be.

Alexis: Who?

Stefan: Barbara. Barbara is an ex-hooker just like Tammy Carson and the first victim. She’ll use the Sex Toy Stalker as an excuse to kill Barbara.
