After calling a halt to their wedding ceremony, Carly ran upstairs. Sonny wanted to go after her, but the Borg stopped him and told him he'd take care of it. Then he preceded to try many arguments to get Carly to go through with the wedding. He told her Sonny makes her happy, that she wouldn't have run upstairs and tore off her wedding gown over him, then he resorted to making a bet that if Carly wasn't happy, he'd take her away, when she began begging him to take her away with him. Unbeknownst to either, Sonny overheard most of their conversation. Downstairs he expressed doubts about going through with the wedding, himself, but when Carly came down they became husband and wife.

When it came time to kiss the bride, Sonny got carried away and gave the bride one very passionate kiss. Then while Sonny was being told by the Borg that Carly is in love with him, Alexis was commenting that it was obvious Carly likes her husband. But Carly brooded over the fact that Sonny would never respect her the way he did her and people like Liz Webber and Robin.

After Jason and Alexis left, Sonny made Carly dinner and they even began to joke around with each other. But that was as far as things went. There was no usual wedding night a bride and groom share.

Later in the week, while the Borg suggested Sonny go out and buy Carly something to show her he likes her, Carly planned a romantic evening for her and Sonny. She even went out and bought herself a special outfit for the evening. And the Borg told her the fact Sonny keeps frozen pizza in his refrigerator just because she likes it is proof of how much he cares for her.

When Sonny came home he was pleasantly surprised to see Carly had set the table with candle light and fine crystal. As he was lighting the candles Carly descended the stairs in her new outfit and Sonny popped open the champagne and toasted to his beautiful bride. Then Sonny and Carly danced to Carlos Santana's Europa and Carly felt a jewelry box in Sonny's pants, but said she knew it wasn't a present for her since he never buys her anything. When he told her who else would he be buying presents for except his wife, she opened it and saw a beautiful ruby necklace inside, then Sonny pulled her into a passionate kiss.
