CRIBS ARRIVAL RE-OPENS SONNY & CARLY'S BARELY HEALED WOUNDS

Sonny before he smashes the crib he ordered in anger, while Carly watches from the staircase unseen by Sonny.
Sonny and Carly grabbed on to each other and held on to each other for dear life after the arrival of the crib. Sonny explained he'd wanted to surprise Carly. That he'd had the crib hand-made and had completely forgotten about it being delivered. That he'd hoped they could have the crib next to their bed and watch their son sleeping right next to them.

 Unfortunately, things took a nasty turn when Carly sensed the anger in Sonny smoldering under the surface and thought this was proof that he was blaming her for what happened to the baby. Sonny turned around and suggested it was Carly who was blaming him for the baby's death.

Then Sonny started going on about they should have known better than to think everything would turn out all right since they're both jinxes and something was bound to have gone wrong. But Carly said there was no reason their baby shouldn't have been born. He was perfectly healthy. Then she kissed him goodnight and went upstairs.

Later concerned about her lover, Carly came back down to check on him and witnessed him smashing the crib to bits. She went upstairs and left him alone, while Sonny continued to grieve alone.
