OLP Concerts Attended: 2, and hopefully many more!
Why I love OLP: Their songs are absolutely brilliant! They make you look at
things in a way you never knew you could. The songs' lyrics are different
from anyone else's and yet you understand what the message is, and better
yet....they write the songs! I saw them in concert yesterday, (May 24, 2001)
and during "Are you sad?" i had tears in my eyes. They give such great
performances. Raine looked out at the crowd and said "this is why we make
music...thank you." They're absolutely amazing!
Favorite Songs: Thief, Middle of Yesterday, Right Behind You (Mafia), and Are You Sad?
My View On Each Album:
For "Naveed" I think that album was the beginning, or the early stages of
their songs and messages. A very unique album.
For "Clumsy" This is a great album! On a few songs, there is an angry theme,
so you wonder if he was angry during that time about a few things. They seem
to address personal issues and the songs seem to try to teach you a lesson.
For "Happiness" This is my fave album and I absolutely love all the songs!
One Man Army is a great song, and that's how I got into OLP. Thief is up
there with my all time fave songs...and the whole album is brilliant.
For "Spiritual Machines" Very, very, very close to my fave album...the most
brilliant album .(But Happiness' songs just hold a special place in my heart
cuz they were the first I ever heard) They've outdone themselves. No one else
could ever even remotely be like them. They stand out. This album shows a lot
of love, a lot of the songs seem to do with Raine's wife. for example "are
you sad?". "Mafia","Middle of yesterday."
