I have served in the U.S. Army since September 1985, and since 1990 I have served in the aviation field. I graduated the UH-1 Maintenance Coarse at Fort Rucker, Alabama in 1990. I then went to my first aviation unit where I was working in an AVUM (Aviation Unit Maintenance) on a UH-1 Huey Phase team at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In Late August of 1990 I was deployed to Saudi Arabia for Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm. I returned from the war in April of 1991. After returning, I moved to my units Production Control (PC) where I worked for about 6 months. The time that I spent in PC helped me to grasp the overall "Big Picture" of aviation maintenance in the Army. After six months in PC, I moved to a Huey line unit where I became a Crew Chief. Now, not only did I fix helicopters, but I performed many different flight related duties as well. After several years on flight status, I became a Unit Enlisted Flight Instructor (FI). As an FI it my responsibility to train and evaluate my units Crew Chiefs in all modes of flight and in each of the mission tasks identified by the Commander including Night Vision Goggles (NVG).

In January of 1995, I attended a 13 week school at Fort Eustis, VA, where I transitioned from the Huey to the UH-60 Blackhawk. Upon completion of my training at Fort Eustis, I was assigned to 377 Medical Company in Camp Humphreys, South Korea, where I performed duties as a MEDEVAC Crew Chief. I spent one year in Korea and during my time there I received the Sikorsky Aircraft Maintenance Award and the Sikorsky Aircraft Rescue Award. Following my tour in Korea, I returned to the United States and Fort Bragg, NC where I was assigned to I Company 4/159th AVN REGT. which is an Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Unit (AVIM). I was back at Bragg for 17 months and performed duties as a UH-60 Phase team Leader, a UH-60 MAintenance Test Flight Crew Chief and a UH-1 CrewChief. Following that assignment I was on the plane again bound for the Middle East and Sinai, Egypt. This was a "UN Type" mission with the Multinational Forces and Observers (MFO)..

I served 18 months in the Sinai reigon as a UH-1 Phase Team Leader and Maintenance Test Flight Crew Chief as well as the Battalion and Company Safety NCO. I worked with two of the finest Test Pilots I have ever had the pleasure of flying with; CW3 Culli and CW2Buller. Following my tour in Egypt I moved back to the States and to Hunter Army Airfield located in Savannah, Georgia, and assigned to an AVIM Blackhawk section in the 603 Aviation Support Battalion (ASB). This was my final assignment on active duty in the Army. I was discharged on October 28 2000 and enlisted in the National Guard to finish my last five years. I began work immediately after leaving active duty at Compaq Computer Corp in Texas as a Business Computer Tech Support Engineer. After nine months with Compaq, I lost my job due to "Corporate restructiring". (I was laid off). Two months on the job trail landed me a job as the IT manager and Network Administrator for a Houston based company with outlying stores located in Tomaball, TX, Austin, TX and San Antonio, TX. .

I have attended and graduated the following Army Aviation Courses:
