A past section presented a
file splitter in case you haven't got a memory stick or a fast connection at home. It can also be used to send a long file to a free email account.
File copying operations are faster for blocks of data rather than bytes, and a short program reconstructs a file which is slightly longer than the original. This is normally of no consequence.
A few executable files, it seems, perform integrity checks on the
actual, not
original filesize, and should those be different, they stop, inevitably reporting a corrupted file. In the unlikely event you are still using a ten year old version of Winzip, you may come acrross the same problem.
A
program which restores the original filesize of the reassembled file removes this problem.
The
sudoku and
noughts and crosses programs have been improved slightly.
