The Passion Recut March 10, 2005 Entry by: Rob Who didn't see this one coming? Mel Gibson is releasing a cut version of The Passion. Six literally bloody minutes are gone. It's for a whole new audience. No disrespect for any Christians out there who love to see their faith reinforced on screen, but what do you see in this movie. I'm talking to the ones who love this film. What's in the appeal of watching someone get beaten like that? I love watching violence on screen like any other guy, but I see no value in this particular violent, bloody, full of gore movie. Where am I going wrong here? I don't know how well it's going to do. Everyone who wanted to see it in the theater already saw it. Anyone with any interest in the movie has at least rented the DVD. Why re-release it? I just hope it doesn't take away millions of dollars from a more deserving film. That's all I got to say about it. |
