This site contains information and numbers which will help illustrate the price disparity of purchasing a new vehicle in Canada and in the United States.

To see the price disparity firsthand, please visit the "Brands" section.  There, you will find the exact prices of cars, and the disparity of purchasing them in Canada and in the United States.

On average, Canadians pay 15-35% more for their new vehicles than they would if they purchased the same exact car in the United States.  The inflated price is due to the drop of the Canadian dollar in 2002, which at the time was worth approximately 0.62 USD.  The automakers were quick to adjust their prices.  As of 2005, the Canadian dollar began an upward trend, building strength, and as of Q4 2007 have risen above the USD.  Despite parity, the
Canadian automakers have not adjusted their prices along with the upward trend.
