Randi and I are very flattered that people are willing to travel all the way to Anchorage just to meet us!
Last night we swallowed pizza and beer with John and Joyce Logan at the Moose's Tooth restaurant and swapped stories of sailing and other adventures.
In September it was David "Wilkie" Owen and son,Crosby, who made the trek.
John and Joyce are both long time Alaskans who are trying their best to retire aboard their Cal 39 now under reconstruction in Alameda, CA.
They can truly be described as "Sourdoughs" having lived in many parts of the state working at a variety of occupations including many years operating a remote lodge that they built themselves on the Iditarod Trail. Be sure to ask Joyce about her exiting but brief career as a septic tank diver!
We look forward to meeting with them again to exchange more stories before they return south.
