I'm happy to report that Dave Owen and son,Crosby, arrived in Anchorage Friday afternoon a little tired, but ready to explore the great Alaskan Wilderness.
As they are used to having dinner after sunset, I joined them at about 9pm and had a beer or two or three while they ate ( sunset at 8:45 ).
Dave and I have a lot in common. Not only do we have nearly identical 2-29s , but we were both rock&roll keyboard players in the 60's and 70's . Of course he is way older than Myself.
I drove them to Seward on Saturday and we spent the afternoon taking advantage of the dealers open boat show to wander aboard a Fisher 36' PH, a Passport 40', and some new Cataliners and Bend-at-toes.
I'll leave it to David to provide a full accounting of the trip when he signs back on next weekend as he is much better than I with humor and has a scanner for pictures,Too.
They left this morning to take a five day flightseeing tour of the state that includes landing on glaciers and fishing.
I didn't have the heart to tell them about the three flightseeing helicopters that had just crashed on a Juneau Glacier.
