Dropped in to meet with John and Joyce Logan on their CAL 39 Dragonfly today. Wonderful couple.
They are at Alameda Marina (berth 219, dock 2, behind Carl Schumaker's office) if any of the Bay Area folks feel like dropping in on them and getting a taste of what a *great* stout is like (Tooth's Sheaf Stout out of olde Sydney Town).
Thanks John for bringing back olde, fond, memories of when I was more of a "wild" bent, hehehe.
Both of them are deeply involved in righting all the problems they inherited with their purchase. Would you believe leaking deck fittings; lack of backing plates; corroded wiring... Of course you wouldn't, hehehe -- CALs, especially olde ones don't have those troubles do they???
Even tho they are living aboard while doing renovations, I was astounded at how clean Joyce has been able to keep the cabin area. Especially after the situations I get into where you often can't tell if there is wood in the cabin or just inches of sanding dust.
Stayed a couple of hours, drinking Sheaf; talking boat rebuilding; refrig problems; and chewing the fat in general.
I must say my opinion of them went up even further when I found they were using System Three; Garhauer; and Mark Plastics products, hehehe.
Thanks again for the "grog" folks,
BC
