I don't know what code version you are looking at Chris, but the ABYC code for 12v is Red and Yellow...
They chose Yellow because too many people were splicing into the Black on their 110v system when they thought they were getting into the 12v system.

I just can't understand people who install other than 12v systems on a boat anyway.
