=======group purchase=================================
Group discount on Chutescoop - "spinnaker sock" --
Group purchase on Tilley sailing hats (again) -- (25% off all styles)
Group purchase on Walker Bay 8 - sailing dinghy
1. Are your guy interested in participating?
2. If so, is there any way that you can get the word out to your members? (Sailnet probably would probably get up-tight if we broadcasted this to list members
The first two items -- there's no problem shipping direct to members who order.
The last -- Walker Bay 8 - is shipped truck (min 6 of them), so it makes sense to "regonalize" a shipment by coordinating across several associations and picking some appropriate local delivery drop off points.

===========================discounts==========
We are contacting yacht owners' associations to offer their members a discount -- no strings attached.
If you think the assn. might be interested and want to pass this on... READ ON. IF NOT go ahead and delete this NOW.
If you could pass this onto the Commodore or "right person"... it would probably benefit your members. And, I would appreciate it if you would do so. If this is an intrusion... please delete this message/offer with my apologies.
Obviously we don't have the resources to contact all YC and boating Assn. members individually. Nor would I invade everybody's "space" that way. So, we are looking for clubs and Assns. that are interested in offering their sail or power membership ANOTHER benefit for their annual dues This is not a hard sell --- In fact, not a sell at all -- again, we are interested in talking with ONLY those clubs that are interested in adding another benefit for members.. Not ones that want to "carry" Weekend'R Products gear in a ship's store and make a commission from sales. That doesn't benefit their dues-paying members very much.
In exchange for a discount to members, we ask only that the club/association make the selected discounted products know to its membership -- and somehow let us know when we get an order - whether or not it is really from a paid-member (that is eligible for the discount)
There is really no cost or other obligation on the club's part. The cost is
to us in terms of the discount we "eat."
So.... why then are we doing this?
1. We strongly support and encourage membership in all boating organizations for safety and education reasons. 2. I belong to clubs and associations and often feel like "what am I getting for my dues?"
3. It costs the clubs/assns. very little, yet benefits us both. I would much rather give a limited number of fellow yachter a discount -- than put it into the pocket of a multi-million dollar magazine corporation for slick advertising.
The association's or YC's "letting members know," can be in any number of ways.. Maybe incuded in the club newsletter.... In a flyer/mailing... A "store page" on its website.. An announcement on the bulletin board... etc. The Catalina 400 Assn was no impressed with our products, it made up its own color catalog and mailed it out to members, but we don't expect everyone to do that -- we like LOW KEY better.
Some Catalina Assns. and YCs have also asked us to design a "customized" gear bag so its members have a quality bag to identify with. We do this at no up-front cost and then offer the bags to members at discount.
Thanks for indulging me and hope that you can pass this along to someone that it would benefit.
Happy and SAFE sailing!
